Everything I hoped for and more

Everything I could have hoped for and more. The perfect retreat away from your busy life. Craig is the most amazing host and person and will go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect and you leave feeling refreshed. Cosy rooms with fire places, baths with a view of the stunning greenery, and onsite massages, saunas, cold plunge tubs and even a float tank, this is one not to be missed!

Best Retreat To Reconnect

I had a truly relaxing and restorative experience at the retreat. I chose the package that included working closely with Craig, and it was incredibly impactful — he really helped me open my eyes and see things from a new perspective.
Every element felt thoughtfully designed to help you unwind and reset. The sauna was beautifully calming, the float tank offered a deep sense of stillness, and the pool area was peaceful and inviting. The cold plunge was the perfect refreshing contrast and left me feeling completely rejuvenated.
Overall, it was an incredible experience that I would highly recommend to anyone needing time to recharge.

Peaceful escape in nature

Had an amazing stay at Alaya Ascend this weekend. The place has such a peaceful and relaxing vibe — perfect to disconnect and just enjoy the moment.
Everything was super well looked after, and you can really feel the attention to detail.
Craig was incredibly attentive and genuinely a great guy, which made the whole experience even better.
Definitely one of the best places I’ve stayed — highly recommend it if you’re looking to relax and reset.

Exceptional! Relaxed and restored!

Exceptional hospitality with gorgeous Balinese inspired rainforest views. Restore and relax with sauna, cold pledges, magnesium float and top it off with a massage. We didn’t know ourselves after this weekend I really do encourage couples to get away and experience this for themselves. Excellent accomodation and fantastic value. Craig and his family have build something truly special. You really are encouraged to take your time do things at your own pace and just simply take in the environment. You don’t have to use the facilities it’s a magical place to enjoy the surroundings and a relaxing beverage however I do strongly encourage people to try them it just tops the weekend off and allows an unwind like you would not have experienced before away from the hectic lives we live everyday. I’m hooked can’t wait to come back.

Improvements required

So our stay had some good and bad:
Good =
Great getaway in the middle of a forest
Breakfast was plentiful
Pool was nice
Bad =
Water colour was rather off-putting, especially when getting into an almost brown bath water
Found uninvited guests - a big huntsman in the bedroom at night & cockroaches in the kitchen
Your email gets added to a strange mailing list generated by the owner that spams you on a daily basis about a week prior to the stay, mainly asking to book extras
No Microwave
Unpaved road can be tricky, especially during/after heavy rain

Alex booked this stay using frequent flyer points, free for him, at significantly below our standard rate, arrived without researching what we offer and left the room in a condition our cleaner described as the worst she has seen in 5 years — documented and being pursued through the appropriate channels.
What we offer is a self-directed restoration retreat for people genuinely seeking rest, nature and decompression. Two grown men spending the weekend indoors playing computer games is not our usual clientele or what we are offering.
Our 400+ five-star reviews across Google, TripAdvisor and elsewhere reflect the experience delivered to guests who arrive in the right spirit. We wish Alex well elsewhere.
