The room was great, and spacious, and comfortable. Would stay again. The only thing, was the vacuuming outside the room at 4:30am was a bit early, and some of the dishes in the shelves were quite dusty. The bar and restaurant were great, and kids enjoyed the teddy machines.

Lack of communication prior to check in

Had been advised that there would be a reduced menu due to renovations in the kitchen, which I was fine with, so asked for a menu to be sent through as I was meeting customers. Hed menu sent through by Stevii Warren-Ross Duty Manager on 24/7/26 and they advised that the meals would also be served on paper plates. I again reconsidered but decided to not cancel.
Upon check in on the 3/8/26, over a week after last communication, I was advised that there was actually no meals available due to council not approving the food van that was sitting in the carpark.
I then get into the room to find a note on the wall in the bathroom advising I needed to run the hot water for between 5 - 10 minutes to ensure hot water due to a pluming issue. And after all of this, still get charged full price for the room!

This is one of the older pubs but the rooms (we were in the one bedroom apartment) have been renovated to a high standard, with full cooking facilities and tv in both the lounge and bedroom. I have no trouble in recommending, it is very close to the centre of town and grocery shop.

The price was great, staff helpful, room was clean, tidy, presentable and close proximity to shops a d grocery stores to purchase convenient local amenities... However... Unfortunately I decided to stay there with an abusive gas lighting narcissist who made the entire vibe of the stay just feel yucky, low and terrible. Highly recommend the Metropolitan Hotel. 5 stars all round.

Bad stay but good food at the restaurant

Location was good, food in the restaurant was great and friendly staff but our accommodation wasn't good. We had mould in the shower, and in the bedroom roof, no hot water, it wasn't clean the shower was very dirty I actually wanted to wear shoes in the shower..won't stay here again.
