Very Good Value

The room was spotless and serviced daily. The TV screen was a massive 55 inches! The bedding was very comfortable- the facilities were excellent. The air con was very efficient.
It is located in a servo but I never heard the trucks and road trains pull in.
Hot meals are available from 4pm and a roaring trade is done with the locals- that is always a very good sign. You can eat in or have a take out meal. There are several daily specials and quite a comprehensive choice on the main menu. There is a good range of items in the shop area. This place is a one stop shop!
I thoroughly recommend this motel.

Disappointed

Since we stayed here 2 years ago the amenities seem to have gone backwards . What would cause Management to make a decision to take toasters and microwaves out of the guestrooms . It could only be that they want their motel guests to spend money in their roadhouse . It is a backward decision to make . We have stayed in many motels on this trip and have always been provided with these items . Also we could not get our TV to work and another guest told us the same thing .

A Place To Stay

Hard to give this motel any more than average and it was not cheap when we paid $168 night, Cleanliness was just ok with coffee cups not washed, only one pillow each, (we got 2 more when we asked), no top sheet and a note saying “sorry tv and wifi is not working” but we are working hard to fix it! Also doubtful that our smoke alarm was working but I didn’t see that till we were leaving. I accept their sheets are laundered but some Napisan bleach would get rid of the grey tinge.
I was also disappointed that there was no extra option for breakfast at the roadhouse. Just their usual pre-cooked eggs/bacon burgers.
On the positive side, we badly needed the night’s accommodation and it seemed to be in short supply. We slept well and it was lovely to be able to walk around the lake opposite.

Keep driving

This is the worst motel we have ever stayed in. Has been badly built, spare pillow was soiled, towels fraying with holes. Very small room, could lay in bed and open fridge. One bedside table only. Thin walls, could hear neighbours and traffic from 24 hour service station. Supposed to new but door scuffed and scratched, painters tape still on back of door, and a big hole in the curtain. Dusty cobwebs around the aircon unit.

Good modern motel room

We stayed at this motel on 9 October 2021. This is a relatively new motel with the look of a good modern motel in the rooms. There is one only upholstered chair in the room with "very stained" upholstery. If I was managing this motel, I'd swap it out for a wooden chair or a leather chair as the existing chair brings down the tone of the room. In fact, in these days of COVID you feel reluctant to touch it or sit on it. Very modern bathroom. However, like most motels these days, the shower floor was extremely slippery when wet. I'm astounded there aren't lots of falls when having showers in motels, but nobody seems to be reporting them! This was one of the most modern looking rooms we had in the various motels we overnighted in Western Queensland. Room was very quiet overnight and this was a bonus as the attached service station is open 24 hours a day. We chose to eat dinner in the bistro at the Mud Hut Hotel just down the road in Goldring Street. Friendly service and good food, and well worth making the trip down the street for dinner.
