Everything is spotless and the staff were amazing
We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! Everything was spotless, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. All the staff were amazing. so kind, helpful, and always ready to assist, especially Gerry, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. They truly made our time in Hanoi unforgettable. We’ll definitely recommend!

Serious Health Concern – Bedbugs and Lack of Responsibility
We booked two hotel rooms, but upon entering we immediately noticed bedbugs and a large number of insects in both rooms, as well as in the hallways leading to the rooms. This is a serious hygiene and health issue. Because of this, we could not accept the rooms.
Unfortunately, the hotel staff did not acknowledge the problem and showed no willingness to think along or find a real solution. The only option offered was another room, which had the exact same problem. No effort was made to inspect the rooms, address the issue, or take any preventive action for upcoming guests. The situation was clearly not taken seriously, and no action was undertaken.
The reception staff was not empathetic, did not listen to our concerns, and refused to cooperate. There was no manager available, and we were not allowed to speak to one or have one contacted.
We paid in cash, and no refund was provided, despite the fact that we did not stay at the hotel due to the conditions.
Additionally, the hotel advertises a spa and breakfast, but neither of these facilities were available, which is misleading.
We have now reported this issue to Booking.com and hope they will assist us in finding a solution. We are writing this review to protect the health and safety of other travelers, as bedbugs pose a serious risk and should never be ignored.
This experience was extremely disappointing and concerning. We strongly urge future guests to be cautious.

Unworthy of a 4* hotel
It's not a palace, it's not a spa, it's misleading booking/agoda images, it's a disused roof top.
False location on these sites, when you show it to the front desk, they will give you a business card to have fun. After 1500km of motorcycle, I hoped to enjoy some movies, only there they have the channels but not the TVs that work.
The pompom is the SDB mixer that remains in your hands, we will change your room in your absence the next day, so no shower in the evening, by the way, diverting a food from the refrigerator. You're asking? They react when they want and no one is responsible! Short poor value for money

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
This place is absolutely disgusting. One of the worst hotels I have ever seen. We stayed on the 7th floor. Upon arrival our room was in very poor condition. There were stains on the sheets, mold inside and around the ac unit , the bathroom toilet was also in poor condition and not well kept.
The room in general was decrepit. The room was so awful we immediately checked out even without a refund because it was not worth staying in such a poorly kept room. I understand this is a budgeted hotel , however I have seen much better for comparable prices in Vietnam.
The only positive was the staff being polite. They tried to offer another hotel they owned as an option but given the poor condition of our room I did not want to risk anything and I booked a suitable room at a nearby hotel instead.

Avoid at all costs
I had a confirmed booking at Madelise Palace in Hanoi, but ended up walking away without staying even a single night—an unfortunate decision forced by the hotel's appalling and discriminatory treatment when I went there to visit a friend staying there.
From the moment I arrived, the staff's behavior was unprofessional, cold, and shockingly disrespectful. Despite having a confirmed booking, I was treated with suspicion and outright hostility. There was a clear double standard in how i was spoken to and handled compared to other guests, particularly Vietnamese —discriminatory and completely unacceptable.
Instead of offering help or trying to resolve any perceived issue, the front desk staff acted dismissively, even confrontationally, making me feel unwelcome and targeted, as if I was a criminal When I attempted to understand what the problem was, I was met with condescension and evasiveness. The experience left me feeling humiliated and deeply disappointed.
I ultimately made the decision to find alternative accommodation—something I did not expect or deserve after planning and paying for the stay in advance. Thankfully, the new hotel i chose treated me with the respect and hospitality every traveler should expect.
I would strongly advise others—especially international travelers or those from marginalized backgrounds—to think twice before booking at Madelise Palace. Hospitality should be inclusive and respectful. This hotel failed that most basic standard.
