Fantastic stay

Only a short stay, but we would love to come back for longer in future. From booking through to check out staff were helpful, with great proactive contact and couldn't have done more to help on site. The Tree Lodge itself was great, but what made it special compared to other similar properties we have stayed at were the small personal touches, such as dog beds, smores kit and a personal welcome in the property for our arrival. The site itself has so much to see, do and explore, that it represents great value for money and there is plenty to keep everyone occupied. The lodges were well laid out, with plenty of space and privacy, and the whole area is so peaceful, that it was a real joy to stay there. Can't say enough good things about it. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Owl experience we booked via the wider Estate.

Log cabin

There was no hot water in our cabin and it couldn't be repaired. However the lady in charge gave us a free night's stay and we have a voucher for a further two night stay at some point.

Excellent Trip

We stayed for three nights over a long weekend in August 2026 for my son’s birthday, booking directly through their website to get a 3 for 2 offer. We received ample information beforehand to advise on what would be provided and what we should pack, which helped us not to overpack as they provide a lot of equipment we would usually take (towels, toiletries, crockery, pans, cups etc.). There was so much included, like unlimited firewood for the wood burning fire in the Yurt, towelling robes, hot water bottles, and they provided extra bits to make my son’s birthday special like putting a birthday banner in our yurt, leaving a little present, and providing us with marshmallows and biscuits to make s’mores, everything was so well thought out. The setting was beautiful with gorgeous views and clear skies for star gazing. We stayed onsite one day to use the facilities including visiting the Druid temples, and the other days did trips to nearby Newby Hall and Studfold Adventure Farm. We used the shared cooking facilities to prepare food we had brought, and often chatted with other guests whilst having our meals which was nice and sociable. During our three nights it was all quiet on the campsite by 9PM. We didn’t use the cafe but the food looked excellent. I also appreciated having the private loo right by the yurt, and the shower for our sole use in the shower block, which was clean, with nice hot water. We would definitely stay again, perhaps for longer next time, it was certainly comfortable enough for more than 3 nights. Thank you so much, you made my son’s birthday weekend very special!

Disappointing

Was very dirty and generally unclean, service was a bit sketchy, no communication prior to arriving so had to get in touch, lack of wifi and electric in this day and age an issue, spiders in bed and bathroom, if it was hot it would be a problem, massive crack in ceiling leaking, bathroom window was leaking, they basically need destroying and starting again

We do our very best to ensure the accommodation is clean and well maintained, and we take comments regarding cleanliness and maintenance seriously. We also try our best to prevent spiders and other woodland wildlife from entering the accommodation, although due to the nature and location of Bivouac, this can sometimes be difficult to completely avoid.
Our Tree Lodges are intentionally designed without electricity or Wi-Fi. We appreciate that this isn’t for everyone, but for many of our guests it is a big part of the experience and provides an opportunity for families and friends to spend quality time together away from technology.
Had we been made aware of the issues with the accommodation during your stay, we would have been more than happy to look into them and address anything we could at the time.

Trip away with my teens

Two nights away with my teenagers was just the ticket. What a stunning place, we absolutely loved it. The cabin was so cosy to sleep in and the kids loved the yurt. We will be back!
