Very large spacious and comfortable room - Buffet breakfast.

We were met and greeted straight away by the receptionist who came out and helped us with the luggage as soon as our taxi arrived.
Some of the staff barely speak English including the workers in kitchen but staff were accommodating.
I'm was very happy and satisfied with the spacious and comfortable room, very well air conditioned and has more in than room than I expected. Microwave, sofa and 2 large T.V's one across from your bed and another where the sofa is.
Even the all-in-one toilet is high tech with buttons for different Bidet modes.
The buffet breakfast was mainly Chinese style with different Chinese dishes but could have done a bit more to cater for westerners (so no farmer's breakfast/continental style), nevertheless tasty and a large selection with a few unique products from Taiwan.
The gym has a pool table and table soccer game. The equipment is one basic machine that can do all exercises, has treadmill and low weighted dumbbells but not full on.
The location is close walk to shops.

Small and limited facilities.

While The Corner House is quaint it is a quite old and a little jaded. The staff were nice and the room was quite a good space but had a small bathroom and very limited amenities. The aircon did not work well in our room so we tended to turn it on and off according to the temp rather than rely on the thermostat. Breakfasts had a small selection but were quite tasty. Small gym downstairs and convenient laundry.

Discriminatory Staff, Threatening Behavior Over Coin Exchange

Stay away from this hotel!
I have been staying at this hotel for several days. Three days ago, a staff member at the front desk was happy to charge my room for 12 coins for the laundry machine — a routine, minor convenience.
Tonight, a different front desk employee flatly refused the same request and claimed it was "illegal in Taiwan." When I asked her to explain, she specifically said — and I quote — that it might be acceptable on the mainland, but not in Taiwan. I am not a mainland Chinese guest. I travel on a Singapore passport with a US green card. Her comment was an unprompted, baseless, and offensive racial assumption about who I am.
When I calmly asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told the supervisor had gone home. She then threatened to record me on video and call the police — over a request for 12 coins.
This staff member's behavior was discriminatory, unprofessional, and frankly humiliating. The inconsistency in policy between staff members, combined with an assumption about my nationality based on my appearance, is unacceptable at any hotel. I will be filing a formal complaint and will not be returning.

Professional service with lovely team members, Highly recommended!

I have stayed at Corner House for about 7 months. I was impressed by the professional team members and their caring. I lived alone and therefore I concern about a sense of safety and security at Corner House. Lovely and professional staff, especially all beauties (Kim, Kitty, Cora, Jennifer, auntie helper at breakfast time) and handsome guys (Eric, Bobby, Dennis) always take care of me (I visit alone). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the hygiene level is satisfactory. I would recommend this service apartment to friends without hestitation. Once again, many thanks for their caring.

A neighborhood gem

We spent five nights at The Corner House in June, and were so very pleased with the experience. The hotel's location is central and perfect if you want to be in a quiet, residential neighborhood that is close to many of the best streets for eating and shopping, as well as Da An Forest Park for pleasant walks. The room featured a useful kitchenette and hot-water dispenser, along with "service for two" dishes, cutlery, and cups to allow for take-in dining. The room was modern, the bathroom was ample and state-of-the art. Our bed was very comfortable, and it was great having a safe for valuables and a desk for working. In such a neighborhood you would not expect too much space, but it certainly was ample.
The 24-hour coffee and beverage service in the lobby was welcome, as were the ample seating areas and conference room. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast daily, in part because we could custom-order eggs as well as a variety of other items on a menu.
Surely COVID-19 depressed demand for hotel accommodations, and we benefitted from an extremely favorable nightly rate (NT$2700) but the hotel offers so many pluses that we would certainly return to a higher rate per night's stay. It simply has all the advantages you'd want in a hotel, and is worth the price.
