Cyber-feel hotel in convenient location

I arrived one day earlier than my family and were delighted to get free upgrade for the 2 rooms being booked for birthday stay.  The lobby and hotel rooms are full of cyber-feel atmosphere.  It is interesting to have the little robot in the lobby to answer basic info.
The hotel is about 15minutes away from the main bus terminal, railway station, night market and shopping district.  The staff are nice and check in is fast. I found the breakfast not so exciting for my first breakfast there. Yet there were always a few changes of food option in the next couple of days which is really a nice surprise. There are free fruit drinks in the hotel lobby which is an extra merit.
Moving Star is new and has reasonable room rate which is an ideal hotel choice in Taichung.

Boutique hotel with Outer Space Theme

Moving Star was a pleasant surprise, sort of a Taiwanese version of a boutique hotel based on an outer space/star theme. In the lobby you are first greeted by a robot and the theme is continued in the decor on each floor. Our room was large (33 sqm), super clean, and comfortable. The hotel is located two blocks from Taichung’s oldest park and behind it around the corner is a narrow street of small Indonesian cafes (makanan Padang) and shops. Taichung is an interesting city and Moving Star hotel is in a good location for exploring it. We really enjoyed our stay there.

方便的酒店

This hotel 10 mins walk from 台中train station , pretty convenient. Quite some tourist sport and traditional cake shop near by , good for buying gift .
Overall the hotel open quite some years , but the maintenance work well , keep clean and tidy . Front desk staff helpful and friendly .
Only breakfast not much choice and the gym house open short hour , machine not work well .

Two stars at best.

The two stars in the review are for the rooms ( large, clean, modern) and the second one is for the location and it's proximity to the train station.
We were here for 3 nights on a travel adventure through beautiful Taiwan. The issue with the hotel we have is in regards to the service of the staff. The front desk has a really hard time communicating in English and tends to nod and say yes or no even when they don't understand anything. It's was very difficult to as for any help or advice from anyone there.
The city of Taichung in general was a real let down and very unclean compared to Taipei or Kaoushung.
The breakfast at the hotel is also kind of the worst. One day we saw duck blood soup. Seriously who is eating duck blood soup at 8 am.
Not recommended at all unless you are passing by for a night.

Great place but the free laundry machines a nightmare

Really fine hotel and offering the free use of 3 washing machines is awesome - only problem it took from 3pm to 1am to ensure the laundry was dry. Need new washing machines and separate dryers PLEASE. Otherwise, rooms are very nice and modern; staff very nice, internet a breeze, location very good.
