clean and simple but overpriced

We have stayed in many homely and simple B&Bs in Taiwan where, despite the lack of luxurious surroundings, the proprietor would go above and beyond in service to make our stay memorable and satisfying - unfortunately this is not one of those places. Earlier this month, we were in a double room in the older building. It was decently clean and the bed decently comfortable. The owner gave an informative 3-minute introduction to the island on arrival. But beyond this I cannot find anything good to say about this B&B. I did not see the owner again until it was time to return the keys to him.
My biggest gripe was the lack of towels and towel racks. First the towels: I understand that to be environmentally friendly we were asked to bring our own toothbrush/toothpaste/razor but I do not understand why we had to bring our own towels too. Towels, like bedsheets, are to be cleaned and reused. But instead, we very inconveniently had to pack out our soggy used towels. Second the towel racks: There was only a single hook (as pictured) for two people to hang their towels and this was positioned inconveniently inside the shower where the towels would be sprayed with water. The room had three very small hooks near the door for other items of clothing. But with Liuqiu being a beach/snorkeling/diving destination, this was grossly inadequate for drying our wet swimsuits and snorkeling gear. The owner could have put up a rack on the rooftop or elsewhere for guests to use but did not. And in the end we had to put on damp clothes the next morning after wiping ourselves with soggy towels because nothing could dry properly without drying racks.
B&B's are dime and dozen on the island. At TWD 2000 a night on a Saturday night (breakfast and towels not provided) this B&B was poor value for money.
