Definitely book it!

Very nice and attentive staff, and a hotel and guesthouse with a lot of love for detail.
Very clean and in a quiet location.
Diverse menu.

Gladly, again and again

We were guests as a group at the Hotel Krapp in Scheßlitz. The hotel is located right on the main street (restaurant), but the rooms are very quiet and face the courtyard. The whole property is designed with great attention to detail. The cleanliness, the always friendly staff and the excellent food are worth mentioning. We had a room on the second floor with a balcony and a sufficient size. The furniture and equipment, the cleanliness and the little extras also made our stay pleasant. Thanks to the whole Krapp family and the kitchen and service staff.

Is it reasonable to expect a table in the restaurant when You book a room in a Gasthof?
Not at Krapp! I have booked 2 rooms for 31/12. Upon arrival 17,00 I was informed that there was no table for us in the restaurant. Asking why we was not informed, I was replied “You should have asked!”. As there was no other available restaurants in the village we kindly returned the keys. Upon this, I was forced to pay for the rooms. I have rarely been more disappointed, leaving a Gasthof.
I cannot review if the rooms were good and clean, and I cannot comment on the food. I will however recommend You, to look elsewhere if You are searching for a good Gasthof in the area. As I frequently is passing through, I can recommend Schwab's in 97359 Schwarzach am Main or Schwan in 97334 Sommerach. Here You will find honest dedicated landlords and dining above average.

Wonderful lunch on the terrace

We stopped at Gasthof Krapp for lunch on a sunny Saturday before visiting friends in a nearby village. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. There was free WiFi as well. Our lunch, cream of asparagus soup, white asparagus with sauce hollandaise and parsley potatoes, and rump steak with French fries and salad, could not have been any more perfect. We enjoyed every bite along with the sunshine on the quiet terrace. I would definitely eat here again!

GREAT place - excellent Staff - fantastic Breakfast - a fantastic find

We wanted to stay outside of big cities and found this place in the small village of SCHESSLITZ. ( actually, we stopped a mail delivery van and asked the driver - who pointed us to this place). What a GREAT find. EXCELLENT staff, very friendly- even tried to practise their limited English on us - was actually quite good. The evening meal was some of the best food we had on our European trip. The breakfast in the morning was - without a doubt - the most amazing breakfast buffet we had ANYWHERE. There was enough food and variety for an army, even though there was only 4 of us, plus 2 other guests.
