Always happy.

An immensely friendly atmosphere and excellent service! The hotel is close to the train station but very quiet. The city center is only a few minutes away. A good choice!

No complaints

Very happy with my stay here. From the first email inquiry to checking out I have nothing to complain about. The hotel is an easy walk from the main station, which was important to me since I didn’t want to have to rely on taxi/public transport, and because I arrived on a Sunday (shops closed in Germany) and knew I could grab water, the odd snack and fruit at the small store inside the station. From first entry the absolute neatness of the hotel stood out. The décor may be a little dated, but it didn’t bother me as it was well maintained. The two concierges I met were welcoming and helpful. My single room was near the main stairs and as neat as the rest of the hotel. A perfect little space for my needs. Traffic was heavy during the day but it was very quiet during the night. Breakfast offered anything one could want and need, service was prompt and friendly, and again, super clean and neat. I ate dinner at the in-house Italian restaurant, wisely booking a table. It was full, mostly with hotel guests, and several were turned away. If I’m ever in Bayreuth again I won’t hesitate staying at Goldener Hirsch, and happily recommend it to others, especially women travelling alone, as I felt safe here.

More light than shade

I'm a bit ambivalent about the Golden Deer's evaluation. For one thing, the staff is super friendly and customer-oriented. You feel very welcome. The hotel is nice and central. In the old town you are quickly on foot and also to the Festival Hall it is not far. The room was very spacious. Price is right ... so basically a recommendation. But I don't want to hide a few compromises. The hotel has somehow stopped in the 80s. You can like that ... it wasn't our thing. Overall, everything was pretty gloomy. Breakfast was not really a highlight either. The bottom line is, we were still quite satisfied. If you can live with the criticisms, the deer is a good choice to explore Bayreuth.

A Wonderful Stay

My wife and I recently stayed at Goldener Hirsch for three nights during the Festival. The facility was spotless, the staff was warm and inviting, and we have already booked again for next year. If you will be staying in Bayreuth, look nowhere else.

Practical!

Located right next to the train station. The city center is within walking distance. The Festspielhaus can also be reached on foot or by bus from the train station.
Staff are very attentive. Breakfast is versatile and really good to consider. The decor of the hotel is already a bit old and exudes a lot of 80s flair.
