Great view, friendly host family

Very nice hostess, great rooms with great views (room Gentian), delicious breakfast and dinner. Ideal as a base to explore Berchtesgaden.

Beautiful location, great guesthouse

The Pechhäusel is in a fantastic location above Oberau on the Rossfeldhochstrasse. You don't notice it at all! Quiet and with a view of the valley. In winter you can ski up and down directly from the house.
The rooms are big enough, very nice, modern, with a great balcony and with charm. Just like the whole house. Absolutely successful and you feel at home. The only thing that would be nice in the room is a small fridge to cool food and drink for hikes in the summer. In terms of sustainability, it would also be nice if shower gel and shampoo were offered, then not in disposable packaging.
The house is family-run. And you can feel it. You feel at home, questions are always answered and tips are also given. Warm, friendly and funny.
Parking spaces directly at the house, access road and Roßfeldstrasse are cleared in winter.
There is also a small restaurant in the inn. Here you can enjoy a delicious breakfast with fruit, yoghurt, muesli, a changing selection of sausages and cheeses, sweets, fresh coffee of your choice, fresh eggs of your choice (boiled, scrambled, fried...), juice, milk, water, various bread rolls... In the evening you can eat from the menu in the restaurant. Delicious but a little small selection. Especially for vegetarian alternatives. A slightly larger selection would be nice here.
Visit absolutely recommended! We felt very comfortable.

Great hotel, great view!

Friendly staff with clean and modern rooms.Good location to explore the area though you will need a car (there is lots of parking). The food in the little restaurant was good though has a limited menu. I'd definitely stay here again.

Beautiful viwe

We spent my husband’s birthday there, We had a great stay there. The family was very kind and helpful, the breakfast was everyday fresh, with the local food. The building is very nice , our room was really very clean and comfortable, we had also a balcony with a great view to the valley. I hope we can visit it again! It’s also a super place for a family

Great hotel in the Bavarian Alps!

This hotel is located about 15 minutes outside Berchtesgaden, in the mountains (unfortunately fog and clouds obscured the view during the visit, but the way the property is situated suggests the views would be fantastic). The owners renovated the property a year or so ago, but managed to maintain a historic look and feel to the property.
Rooms are clean and comfortable, with plenty of space. Free WiFi is available, as Telekom’s service is sporty where the hotel is located.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, and even asked what time to serve breakfast as there were no other guests in the hotel that night. Breakfast is a traditional Bavarian cold breakfast.
There is a restaurant on site, though it closes at 1930 and is not open Tuesdays or Wednesdays (did not try it during this visit).
Also worth noting, the hotel is cash only.
All-in-all, a great find, and one that I will definitely use again if I take another trip to Berchtesgaden!
