Girlie Weekend
Spent a long weekend there with Family and Friends. The five of us rented the 3 bedroom apartment, which had its own entrance. It was very spacious, modern and great for our needs. Very comfy beds too. The bathroom was small but sufficient. The only trouble was the shower head. It was a bit wonky and we had difficulty keeping it up. The kitchen had everything we needed. A large fridge freezer, a toaster, kettle and microwave. Every bedroom had its own television, which we did not really need. Bus stop was right outside our front door and the journey into the centre of Berlin takes about 20 minutes. Supermarkets are a 5-8 minute walk away (Nahkauf and Lidl). A very good Italian restaurant- La Manga- is also just a short walk away. We enjoyed our stay at Ela Apartments and would recommend it if you travel as a family or larger group. The other part of the house is kind of a hostel with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities as far as we knew. We saw it briefly when we arrived and it looked very nice too. Probably great for travellers on a budget. Just be aware that you will have to pay in cash when you check in. There is also a €35 cleaning fee, which I was not aware of when I booked it through booking.com. The apartment was very clean when we arrived so we were happy enough with that. Free wifi is also available. Very useful! Renting holiday apartments in Berlin from private is now illegal, so this was a great and safe Alternative.

OK for a few days...
We stayed as a family with 2 adults and 4 kids in their 3 bedroom apartment for 4 days. We will not return.
Positive: Large apartment with large bedrooms; own kitchen with large fridge, microwave etc.; clean; own entrance; bus stop in front; free wireless
Negative: tiny, old bathroom; cheapest furniture; souterrain; frequently no hot water; felt somewhat run-down; loud
Overall, it is run like an Airbnb, but with less attention to detail and comfort.

I wouldn't stay here
The place is hard to find turned up five minutes late to be told charge 30 eutos. When we refuse to pay left on street with no were to go and charge 139 pounds for privliage. This place is a joke stay away

Good place for extended stays.
Ela Apartments are a no frills, affordable, short term place to stay while in Berlin. The terms for rental were more than fair. Renters are responsible for keeping the place clean and picked up, but the management takes care of cleaning between guests. Don't expect a spic-and-span place, ultra quality set of rooms. It is merely a decent location to reside while in Berlin.
We arrived late at night and the manager came out, welcomed us, and was very accommodating. The beds were simple single beds, but comfortable for an experienced traveler. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom small but efficient. There are materials provided for keeping the floor swept, counter and table wiped off, and garbage bags. Grocery shopping is nearby, a good restaurant across the street, and a bus stop right in front.
The only problem we had was with the size of the shower stall. If you rent here, bring shampoo, soap, and conditioner you can attach to the wall. There are no little ledges for those items, and bending to pick things up from the floor is difficult, and usually we bumped the shower door open. This is a minor problem, and would not keep us from renting at Ela again in the future.
It can get noisy because Ela Apartments is located on a corner of busy streets, so at night it's always advisable to lower the rollos.

Well-connected comfort at a low price
I found Ela Apartments via Airbnb when looking to book somewhere in Berlin for a weekend trip, and was very pleased to find out how nice it is! While I have to say that the apartments aren't exactly apartments - the kitchen and bathroom are shared between the different rooms - the rooms themselves are clean and nicely furnished, and the M85 bus route goes directly from outside the building to the heart of the city, making it a breeze to get in and out of Berlin's central area. It takes about 40mins on the bus to get into Potsdamer Platz.
There's not a lot around for food shopping (a small cafe is a few minutes' walk down the road, and there's a restaurant across the street) so anyone visiting should be sure to pick up any snacks or drinks when in town before coming out to the apartments.
Cost 41EUR to get a taxi here from Schoneberg airport.
