Weekend break in Biberach

Having been to Biberach many times but never having stayed in a hotel there I didn't know what to expect. However I needn't have worried as the hotel was excellent. A small family run hotel with friendly staff that was spotlessly clean.

Very disappointed

I knew of this hotel from a former visit and decided to stay there again for one night.
This time we were very disappointed in our treatment (or lack of treatment) at the hotel.
Apart from an initial booking confusion due to the hotel misunderstanding a mail I sent them, (ok, that can happen) I have never stayed in a hotel where there is not a single member of staff present either in the evening or the morning. Had there been a serious problem - fire, door blocked etc - we would have been unable to deal with it. I was also unable to make use of the hotel wifi.
We were unable to have breakfast in the hotel but I was only informed of this when I had already booked a second time. Even with the reduction in price the café breakfast did not make up for the traditional German hotel one.
As we could not pay the bill there, since there was no-one present, I was obliged to find another way to do so.
I let the hotel know how dissatisfied we were but received in return the invoice without a word of apology.
I did not expect this kind of treatment in a 3* hotel.

Good hotel in central location

The hotel is in an excellent location within easy (5 minutes) walking distance of the Market Square. Being family-run it is smallish, and spotlessly clean. Our bedroom was small but comfortable, and with a small bathroom. Some of the other bedrooms seemed to have a smaller bathroom still. We discovered that a couple we were travelling with, although paying the same rate, had a larger bedroom, with a seating area, and a larger bathroom and much better shower. They could also get some English-language TV channels, which we could not get.
The breakfast was excellent, with a good choice of cereals, breads, etc., and the free wifi was good. Staff were on the whole friendly. Restaurant service and food were OK.

Good country inn

I stayed at the Eberbacher Hof for one night with two business colleagues. The inn is small (I think it might have 10 rooms?) and is not staffed except during business hours. We arrived and used the automated KeyBoy machine to get our room keys. The process was very simple.
Breakfast was satisfactory, and included in the room rate.
The hotel has a restaurant, however it is not open on Sunday evenings so we ate at a restaurant down the block.
The hotel is located in the old city, near the center of town, and access is via a one-way street. Check the map carefully if driving... it took us a few tries to find the right combination of one way streets and turns to get to the hotel.
The parking area holds 4-5 cars and due to its location in the old city, there are not may alternate options nearby. Confirm parking arrangements with your reservation.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Very nice central location in Biberach

I stayed here on business. When I arrived the hotel was overbooked and they wanted to move me to a hotel outside of town. I pleaded with them since I was there without a car and they could accomodate me. My room was tiny but they charged me a lower rate than what my reservation indicated. I had previously stayed in a room that was nice and spacious.
The reception is not staffed permanently, be prepared to wait for a little bit after you ring the bell.
Service is OK. I have tried other hotels in Biberach, all seem to be similar.
