Idyllic in the Odenwald - between quaint and modern

We stayed for a gourmet weekend in the 4-star country hotel “Lammershof”. The stay was entertaining and familiar, very quaint and quite casual.
Part of our “troop” stayed in a very modern hotel room in the new building, another part in existing, quite rustic rooms in the main house - all very clean and welcoming. Only the bathroom of the hotel room in the new building had a clearly perceptible drain odor, which could not be permanently eliminated due to a lack of functioning ventilation. We also found the temperature in the rooms as well as in the hallways or in the stairwell to be very warm and sometimes a bit stuffy. This may be tweaked, even if there is a fan in the rooms.
In the evening we originally reserved a 5-course meal at the gourmet restaurant WILD X BERG, which was rebooked for us due to a lack of staff - in the end we still had a very delicious and gourmet-worthy 5-course meal (from high-quality ingredients to creative combinations to extravagant preparations), separately placed in the WILD X BERG restaurant, cooked in the STUBEN kitchen and a very courteous service staff. Kudos to the kitchen; it was really a very great evening - in every respect.
The breakfast the following morning was adequate, but especially at this hotel level (4 stars) we also know more creative and significantly more extensive choices of breakfast buffets. We are natives of the Odenwald ourselves and therefore know the surrounding region more than well, after which we would have expected to see more local specialties. It would be necessary to consider whether local products such as milk, yogurt and cheese products from the regional dairy “Hüttenthal” can also be used for breakfast. We would find a little more variance in the food available for selection more attractive overall - then very much also at an adjusted price. For good & (visibly) local we like to pay a little more!
Overall, we can recommend a stay at the Landhotel Lammershof especially to couples, smaller families or groups of friends. Worth a visit culinary!

A unique place in nature

A completely unique place in the middle of nature. The house is a beautiful old building in bonding works. The rooms are tastefully decorated, some modern others more traditional. Restaurant Stuben with a very large and beautiful stove with green tiles and fine figures is extremely cozy. The only small minus is the kitchen, where you can definitely get a good steak, but where there is a little lack of the innovative. Breakfast is fine. Use the car's navigation system to find out. There is about half an hour drive from the motorway.

Workshop in a great environment

We stayed here with a small team for 2 days for the retreat. Looking back, the Lammershof was the right choice.
Location: In the mountains behind Birkenau you are remote enough for a retreat, but still quickly back on the motorway or in Heidelberg
Infrastructure: If you want to experience or do something in the surrounding area, there are numerous opportunities. Attention - in and around the Lammershof the mobile phone network is very weak (for a retreat a big plus)
Hotel: Modern and lovingly decorated in detail - with historic charm.
Kitchen: Meatlovers Paradise! Speciality is bison meat. But vegetarians also get delicious cuisine.
Personnel: Very friendly and attentive.
In total: We were extremely satisfied and will come back!

Fine country hotel - worth a trip!

Elaborately renovated hotel with very nice rooms. The gourmet restaurant offers quality food at fair prices which was served by the very attentive and friendly service staff. The wine accompaniment could be a little finer.

Price-performance ratio is not right

The food was not worth the price. The bison steak was tender enough, but there was no steak knife to go with it and the homemade spaetzle were completely tasteless. The interior is very pretty and the service was OK. Can't really recommend it.
