Good value for money, centrally located.
The hotel is in the immediate vicinity of the main train station, right by the long-distance bus terminal.
Right next door is a parking garage where you can park cheaply for a few euros per day.
The rooms are simply furnished and were clean, the staff friendly. Despite the proximity to the train station, it was quiet in the room thanks to closed windows.
I didn't have breakfast there, so I can't say anything about it.
Overall a good recommendation for those on a budget.

The ventilation in a room runs continuously!
Unfortunately, the stay did not start well and ended poorly.
At the beginning, we could not immediately check into the room and received a coffee and hot chocolate as compensation (so it was not good, but acceptable).
After visiting Bremen, we went to the room (315). The bathroom ventilation ran all the time (both with the card and with the light off in the bathroom, as well as without the room card). When I mentioned this at the reception at 10 PM, I was told that this was normal. I definitely cannot understand this. In an adjacent room that my father occupied, this was not the case.
When I noted the continuously running ventilation again at checkout, an employee said that this should not be the case. Shortly thereafter, a second employee joined in and told me again that this was normal. In response to my statement that I had not encountered continuously running ventilation in any other hotel (both at Meininger and in countless other hotels), he assured me again that this was not his view. So I did not experience that satisfaction is the most important thing for all employees.
A very embarrassing reaction from the hotel was that after summarizing a review, I received the message that the employees unfortunately showed different reactions - otherwise, there was nothing new in content.
I am therefore not satisfied with the stay at all and will only give one star.

THE WORST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!
Last night something happened in the 4-bed dorm where we were staying. My husband and I were together, and there was also another man in the room. My husband fell asleep, and the man started talking to me and asking questions. I’m very sensitive and uneasy about these kinds of things, so I made sure not to make any sudden moves so nothing bad would happen. He started asking me many questions: “Are you married? If you weren’t married I would take you with me. Do you have a sister? Is she married? I really like Turks, he mentioned he is Afghan” and he kept talking for a long time. My husband was asleep and I felt very uncomfortable. I texted and called my husband; he woke up and then we went downstairs to reception. We were quickly moved to a private room — thank you for that — but the answer I expected was not given. They told us they blacklisted the person, but what difference does that make after the incident? First they wanted to put me in the girls’ room; I didn’t want that because I didn’t want to leave my husband there — and I didn’t want to risk any sin/issue either. The boy was apparently in prison in Turkey (he told me that), anyway I asked to move to a private room but we had to pay extra for that. In this situation I actually expected not to pay anything because we couldn’t sleep all night anyway. In the morning at reception the girl asked how it was; I said I had a very bad experience last night and told them what happened. She said “we blacklist him, that’s our authority,” and there was no offer of a discount. I said blacklisting him is useless and that this is a very unusual situation and you should have discussed it with senior management. I had zero sleep and such an experience. I want to write a complaint to their customer service.

Your well-being and safety are extremely important to us, and we took your report very seriously.
As soon as the situation was brought to our attention, our night team immediately offered you a free transfer to a female-only dormitory and then arranged an alternative room to ensure you felt safe. We also took swift action by permanently banning the guest involved from staying in our shared rooms, as we do not tolerate such behavior.
While we understand how distressing this experience must have been, this was an unpredictable situation caused by another guest’s conduct, not by negligence on our part. However, we always aim to respond with care, empathy, and appropriate measures to protect and support our guests.
We sincerely hope the rest of your travels were more peaceful and that this incident does not overshadow the service and hospitality we work hard to provide.

Disrespectful behavior of an Indian employee
I would like to complain about an extremely unpleasant incident during our stay at the Meininger Hotel in Bremen.
On the night after 11 pm, an employee (I refer to him here as the Indian employee, as he would not give me his name despite the request) knocked on our room door several times and forbade us to shower in a very aggressive and disrespectful tone, let the ventilation run and even told us to go to bed immediately. However, the ventilation in our room cannot be switched off at all.
It was particularly bad that the aggressive behavior of the employee put so much pressure on a friend of mine that she burst into tears. For a hotel where guests should actually feel safe and respectful, such behaviour is absolutely unacceptable.
After we pointed out his rude tone to the staff member and still wished him a good night, he came back just a few seconds later, knocked loudly again and even woke up our teacher to complain that we had called him disrespectful. We found this behaviour intimidating, unprofessional and completely inappropriate.
We expect this incident to be taken seriously and appropriate conclusions to be drawn. This must never happen in a hotel.

Bei uns gilt für alle Gäste im Hotel Nachtruhe ab 22 Uhr. Für Schüler sind die Regeln durch den Beherbergungsvertrag noch etwas verschärft, um eure Sicherheit zu gewährleisten und auch für eine ruhige Atmosphäre ab 22 Uhr zu sorgen. Zudem haben wir im Security-Check-Protokoll mehrere Störungen bei Ihnen feststellen können. Leider gab es auch Beschwerden von anderen Gästen, die unsere Individualreisenden betreffen, weshalb unser Kollege in diesem Fall leider durchgreifen musste, um die Ruhe und Ordnung im Haus zu wahren.
Dennoch nehmen wir Ihre Beschwerde sehr ernst und werden die Situation intern sorgfältig besprechen, um sicherzustellen, dass solche Vorfälle in Zukunft vermieden werden. Unser Ziel ist es, allen Gästen einen sicheren und respektvollen Aufenthalt zu bieten.

Top hotel! Good location, safe parking
1 night in Bremen.
Parked in Goldbeck Parking Parkhaus am Fernbusterminal, 1 min walk to hotel. Is parking garage behind hotel (5,- per 24h) pay attention! Drive up the ramp, wait at roller doors then it only costs 5, - per 24 hours.
Hotel: friendly. Lockers for rent for luggage storage or free in group room.
Room: 2x 3pers room. Good beds, spacious room with bathroom. Very clean, dark curtains. With air treatment, temperature can be reduced. Soundproof windows.
From hotel it was good to walk to the center.
Breakfast: up to 6 years free. Good breakfast, choice of hard rolls brown/white, mini croissant and sweet roll. Plenty of choice of toppings (sweet, cold cuts, cheese) Toast with jam. Scrambled eggs. Tea/coffee, juice water etc.
Fun play area for the kids
