Inconspicuous antique hotel on the outskirts
On business, I have been traveling here in the region and booked in here.
The reception reminded me of a reception in the eighties. The keys are still hanging in the back of an open key box. Many old pictures of prominent people hung on the wall.
The room itself large and with desk and large bed, the bathroom has been renovated sometime in the last 15 years.
The bed soft but comfortable from the volume it was very good in the room because I slept well
Downstairs there is another restaurant There you can eat beautiful regional food, but also delicious meat dishes, as I saw at the side table. At the restaurant, I'd give the grade two. Friendly staff really good food.
The breakfast room in the morning reminds me, not wanted and not skillful either

Highlight were the rolls often got in the restaurant has rolls or soft rolls here they were really delicious and fresh from the baker
The sausage and cheeses. Well, I could have imagined better regionally.

We were guests yesterday than in the restaurant and I waited with my review until today to stay objective. We ordered a gourmet pan and a Gordon Bleu. The food came at the same time and I tried the French fries first and they were cold and flabby. The waitress was still nearby and I complained immediately. She said I was getting new fries and disappeared. Unfortunately, it was only then that I tried Gordon Bleu. Just as cold as the fries, relatively tasteless with a musty aftertaste. The cheese grayish and almost translucent and no trace of pink that could possibly come from boiled ham. The peas were served separately and quite unlovingly, without spices, in a separate bowl which was still half-filled with water. When my husband was almost done eating, the waitress finally arrived with new fries. On my complaint again, she asked at the side table how the schnitzel was... What does my Gordon Bleu have to do with the schnitzel at the next table??? I honestly had the cardboard on and also no desire to eat alone, since my husband was finished by now and let the food go back more or less untouched. But what Man was quite fast and good at was to bring the bill. It was also complete, because the Gordon Bleu was fully calculated. My husband had a little more luck with the gourmet pan. It was probably so far ok, only the pork fillet was fried dead and for the overbaked the same funny cheese was used as with Gordon Bleu. For us... Never again... For the quality of the food, the price is absolutely overpriced.

Peace before the maelstrom of Hamburg traffic
This was 'just' an overnight stop en route from HofH to Denmark and chosen because it has been used by a car group tour we have used before.
It is delightfully car-themed and the rooms are modern and comfortable.
Excellent beer as well as good food (dinner and breakfast).

Excellent price/quality ratio
I stayed for one night in a one-bed room with a shower. Decent and clean room. Exellent breakfast. Classic German restaurant. Hotels which are in the countryside but near a big city are allways a lot cheaper.

Bad experience
I had a very bad experience at this hotel. I stayed for one week there (31/05 until 08/06/19) due to a business trip. My flight back to my country was at 7pm on a Sunday and someone would pick me up at 3:30pm at the hotel. The checkout time is 10am so I asked to stay at the entrance room until 3:30. Around 3pm a lady kicked me out. She said I had to leave and stay anywhere on the street. I was as kind as possible but her behavior was unacceptable.
I also had lent a plug adapter which I gave back to a hotel employee but this lady was frightened and angry accusing I had stolen the adapter that costs no more than 5 euros.
Other topics:
Internet connection: if you intend to do any job that needs internet connection, forget it! The internet is slow and disconnects all the time.
Location: if all you want is some rest maybe makes sense to stay at this hotel because it’s in the middle of nowhere. To arrive at the center of Hamburg you will spend at least 2 hours by public transportation (also you won’t find a buss all the time). A taxi coasts more than 100euros due to the distance.
The restaurante of the hotel opens from 3pm until 10pm from Monday to Saturday. On Sunday it’s closed and you won’t find any restaurant opened around. The only option is a Mc Donald’s and nothing else.
There is no reception service on Sundays and after 10pm during the week. Also the lift doesn’t work at night. Depending on the time you arrive or you have to leave, you will need to carry your luggage on the stairs (that’s what happened to me when I arrived)
The rooms are nice and the people who work at the hotel are very friendly, except the lady I described above that should never work dealing with people at all.
