Poor room and unrespectful to customer

At arrival, staff was not expecting our arrival and moved us to a small room with super small bathroom. Matresses and pillows were weared out on a kind of bamboo support. Bad night.
At evening restaurant was reasonable ok, but I have been on better locations than this.
Breakfast in the morning was less than what you can find in a ‘holiday inn’ for example. Some yogurt was put on a dish to share with two. Fruit was limited to a slice of pineapple to share with two either. No other fruit proposed. Pepper for the egg was not present. Owner was having his own breakfast instead of taking care of his customers.
After having expressed my deception of the poor room (for 132€) and poor services, he reproached me of having a disturbed perception. And afterwards he agreed to have increased the room price because he was nearly fully booked and therefore could misuse the price for the last customer.
The hotel in general is old fashioned, with collection of old low quality furniture and pseudo antique. The owner try to hide the environment with would-be art, but nothing fits together.
I asked booking.com for help to negotiate a reasonable price but owner prefer to stand instead of taking care of a unhappy customer.
Comparing to the other places we went in the Mosel region, what we received was not worth more than 75€, not the 132€ we paid now.
This hotel is to be avoided.

Very nice hotel

Nothing fancy and very nice hotel, just as we liked it. Pleasant and very helpful owners with a relaxed mentality. The room we were in was quite spacious with a nice bath and a view on the Mosel. Food was good and nice touch was that most of the meals were prepared with wine. Breakfast (which we had outside and was nog problemen at all) was excellent.

Great Little Hotel

If you want great food, a friendly welcome, and good wine, then visit this little hotel. Our room was simple but clean, comfortable and just fine for what we needed. Hoteliers very welcoming, really helpful, and serve first class food together with good wines from their own vineyards. The dining room has a very pleasant, relaxed, atmosphere, which is often enhanced by the owner's classical piano playing. A really excellent breakfast was provided, and delicious home-baked cakes were available every day of our stay. This is a great base for touring the Moselle region. I loved this hotel and would stay here again if I had the chance.

Pleasant stay

Stayed here with the family. Had 2 rooms, nothing overwhelmingly fancy, but the owners were extremely kind and helpful. Rooms were clean, a double is small, but still plenty of room for two people. The family room they gave us for 5, was two rooms put together, with a small kitchen in-between. We had the large room on the top floor, access through the owners private museum and use of a very large balcony. Worked perfect to sit and have cocktails in the evening. The location is a bit remote from things, but still a very short drive to the Bern Kastel wine festival. Sits right along the river, so you can walk to it in a matter of a minute or two. The best part was the incredible breakfast severed. A full breakfast, included in the price, well worth it, table prepared for us, with a fantastic selection of breads, meats, etc and even homemade grape juice. Overall it was a good stay for our family, being that we wanted to be in the region, but did not have to be in the bustle of a city.
