A culinary experience at Ringau: Regional delicacies and warm Service

The inn offers excellent regional food in a nice atmosphere. Prices are reasonable in relation to quality. Smoked sausage with fried potatoes is particularly recommended. For people with milk intolerance, great care is taken flexibly. Suitable for hikers.

Beautiful very quiet and lovingly run house

During our motorcycle tour through Hesse and Thuringia, you came across this hotel by chance. (At some point you feel your rear end and are in the mood for a few beers.)
Inquired (we had not booked) double room left nothing to be desired.
The hosts very attentive and nice. Catering top.After rich breakfast drive on.Highly recommended.Did we like very much, gladly again

Great hotel in beautiful surroundings.

Nice room, well decorated and very clean.Very attentive and nice hosts.Very good food.
Despite rest day, cooking was once done for hotel guests

Best Vacation Ever!

The Landhotel Fasanenhof is a beautiful and wonderfully secluded hotel outside of tourist influenced Germany. The hotel is expertly run by the owner Herr Schroth and his lovely wife and assisted by a staff of friendly, helpful people. Herr Schroth speaks excellent English. Breakfast: a variety of sliced meats, sliced cheeses, breakfast cereals, yogurt, fruit juices, coffee, tea or herbal tea, egg the way you like expertly prepared, breads, butter, fruit jams, fresh fruits. What I'm getting at is if you leave hungry, it is your own fault. Our room was nice, tidy, and clean. The room has a comfortable bed with one of those thick German deckens for a blanket. The LCD TV had hundreds of channels. However, I didn't go to Germany to watch TV; but I did keep informed of what was going on Stateside. The room has an excellent bathroom with shower. The Wi-Fi reception is excellent throughout the hotel; speed very good. The room has a wonderful balcony view. Datterode is a nice quiet city. The hotel is close to a nice grocery store (lady in the meat section speaks excellent English) and gas station.
Attached restaurant: excellent dining. Variety of different regional specialties. Excellent in taste and presentation. Well stocked bar. The whole hotel, restaurant, patio, garden is nicely decorated and expertly landscaped. We met and talked with very nice people in the patio in the evenings after an excellent meal and dessert.
Herr Schroth and his wife treated us better than guests. Like family. A hotel is a hotel. A B&B you get to know your host family. The Landhotel Fasanenhof is like a superb B&B with excellent rooms, facilities, and helpful, friendly owners that intensely devoted to your well-being and are a wealth of information on the area.
My wife and I stayed for two weeks. We loved every minute. The hotel is near Hoher Meissner Nature Park, the jeweled city of the Werra River: Eschwege, and about an hour from Kassel. Mt. Meissner is the location of many stories written by the Brothers Grimm. Hansel and Gretel come to mind and also Frau Holle. Also, because of the geographical location, Mt. Meissner was the location of four independent (American (ASA), German, English and NATO) Military Intelligence Sites monitoring Soviet and Warsaw Pact communications. Many small villages dot the area. Each is worthy of exploration. This is Germany folks, not the tourist Germany. The hotel is a good jumping off point to visit the Border Museum, Wartburg Castle, and a fantastic restaurant in old east Germany: the Zum Werrakrug. Worth looking for. Also visit the Meissnerhof in Germerode. They have the best potato salad in the world and a melt in your mouth Jaeger-Schnitzel. To convert American Dollars to Euros, go to the Deutsche Bank in Eschwege near the City Center. The best ATM is in the Post Office. An excellent Italian Ice-cream Shoppe is across the street from the Post Office. When you park in the City Center, don't forget to purchase a parking time ticket.
To summarize: I'd come back to stay without any hesitation. In fact, we are planning our next trip with my daughter and her husband to return to the Landhotel Fasanenhof. No better place to be introduced to German culture.

Pitstop halway through Germany

I a little village, Datterode, just 30 minutes from A7, this nice hotel with a restaurant was perfect. A nice and friendly welcome from the staff made us feel great. He hotel was nice, quiet and clean. I would consider this hotel next time! The restaurant was aldo very nice and servef a well prepared meal atca very reasonable price.
