Spotless & Quiet

A lovely little hotel. Around a 10 minute walk to Steinberg train station and a 25 minute journey to Frankfurt or less to Offenbach. We were told we had a new room which was spotless and very quiet. As reviews have already said the breakfast choice is huge..you'll not leave hungry! The staff were all helpful and friendly especially Kai. I highly recommend the Alpha Hotel.

Hot, unsafe

I don’t usually ding hotels too much as long as I get some rest. But here at Alpha, that’s hard to come by.
The room was 204- which is odd because it’s one level DOWN. You are below grade and there is no air circulation despite having a large window. It was still at night and the room got no cooling breeze. It was probably one of the worst sleeping hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
You have to DUCK to get through the door of your room than take 3 dangerous steps down to the floor. An easy place to fall if the lights are off.
The window had no screen and there was no way to prevent a cat, rat or burglar from just walking into your room if the window was open. So I had to sleep with the rolling metal screen down just to keep stuff out. I did NOT feel safe. But even with the window open, it was below street level so you get no air.
Breakfast was nice. They need to add some chairs to the covered front porch. At 159-229 Euro per night (due to a large trade show in Frankfurt) this was not a good value.

Very good and quiet local hotel

Stayed only for one night. Very happy with the accommodation (functional room), with the warm welcome (upgrade to comfort), with the exceptional hot breakfast (included). Private car parking is 7 Euro/night. Very decent wi-fi.
Altogether value for money. I will certainly return.

Very disappointing - Not customer friendly

Was here for a one night stay, starting with a very friendly welcome from the reception staff. However as they were renovating the rooms, I had to take a 'new way' to my room: take stairs down, go through a smelly and dirty hallway, and go up again. As they were renovating rooms around mine their was horrible noise (men at work shouting, radio playing loud, drilling,...) from until 8h30 in the evening, starting again at 8h15 in the morning, although they promised me they would only do the more quite jobs in the morning... (They obviously did not). Next I entered an extremely cold room (incl. bathroom). Heaters simply were underperforming, even though they were at their maximum capacity. I frooze during the night as they only had foreseen a thiny blanket. (This was mentioned to the staff but they said heater would heat up the room). The day after I noticed the back door, which was next to my room, was opened up all day and night (and could not get closed because of the workers). So not only strange people, but also cold were able to enter the hotel without further problems... In the morning I mentioned the cold, but the man at the reception desk rather tried to blame me (probably you did open up the window, did not use the heating correctly or something else...). For sure they were not considerate as in the morning I noticed I only had an empty bottle of shampoo. Moreover shower was not closing well so the bathroom was one big pool. In conclusion: rooms look OK at first sight, but for 120 euros (or even for less) I would expect way moor...

Good hotel

Very nice decoration, quiet neighborhood, great service, near to bahnhof station, the breakfast is very delicious , the only thing i dont like is that when you come late you have to open yourself the back door, and in our case it was complicated
