Dreamlike

The start of the day with the perfect breakfast, look and selection, background music great! The entire staff conveys the absolute feel-good factor. Rooms are quiet and very clean. The location, the view, the garden and the park are fantastic. A place to absolutely relax and feel good or business: to shut down and recharge your batteries. Perfect for short or long breaks and business trips.

Beautiful castle with gorgeous grounds!

The grounds on this hotel/castle are absolutely spectacular! We spent a morning walking around all three castles (Albrechtsberg Palace, Lingner Palace, and Eckberg Castle) on the Elbe river, sitting on benches and taking in all of the gorgeous landscaping. A short tram ride from the city. A must see if you are in Dresden.

We chose Schloss Eckberg because it was 5 stars and a superior hotel. But we were disappointed. We had booked a suite but got a regular hotel room without a shower. We were supposed to eat at the hotel restaurant after driving 900 km and we had to wait over an hour for the food because they had a wedding party. The hotel is located 8-10 km from the center of Dresden and yet they choose to close the restaurant on Sundays so you have to drive to get something to eat. We can only give the hotel one star and would recommend others to choose another hotel and thus avoid the same disappointments as us. Room 422

Simply beautiful - time and again.

Whenever we go to Dresden, we always return to Hotel Schloss Eckberg. Yes, there was actually a wedding there, and we were unlucky with a table in the restaurant. Certainly also our fault, as we should have made a reservation beforehand (it also states so in the confirmation). Nevertheless, we were served a drink by the service and then went to the neighboring castle (Lignerschloss). Unfortunately, it was just so-so there (just a beer garden).
However, the breakfast on the terrace the next morning was simply a dream. The lovely breakfast ladies took care of us, and the buffet left nothing to be desired. Anyone who finds nothing or not the right thing here is to blame themselves.
We already knew Dresden and then went to the Saxon Switzerland. About a good half hour, so no problem. In the evening, we were able to enjoy the restaurant. It is always a pleasure to savor the creations of Mr. Thomas (head chef) and his team. Along with the good selection of wines. We recommend the castle's own edition (only available here) from Prince zur Lippe - Schloss Proschwitz. A wonderfully fresh summer wine that perfectly suits this place.
For those who prefer a bit more luxury, a room in the castle is the way to go. This time, a maisonette room in the Cavalier House with air conditioning was sufficient for us. Clean, neat, and everything one might need.
And for those who enjoy romance, we recommend the rose garden between the pigeon tower and the greenhouse with the camellia. Benches invite you to sit and dream. An almost enchanted place that not everyone knows. By the way, this was a little tip from the management, whom we encountered on our way and had a little chat with. In our opinion, very nice and competent.
For those who prefer not to drive their own car, you can take the tram to the city center in 15-20 minutes or explore the surroundings with a rental bike (station on the premises).
Sure, the hotel is located on the other side of the Elbe from the city center, but it is absolutely quiet and surrounded by a very large park. Sustainable practices were shared with us by one of the gardeners. We will come back. Thank you.

Upon our departure, we paid a small bill of 8 euros (2 beers from the minibar) in cash at the reception, as card payment was not possible at that time.

Unfortunately, the hotel denies my payment and harasses us with emails in which we are once again asked to pay.
Recently, we are also being threatened by a collection agency regarding this matter. It is truly incredible how guests are treated there.
Even if the bill were still open, it is absolutely pathetic to cause such an uproar over such a small amount (the purchase price of the beer is perhaps between 1 and 2 euros), especially since a card payment was not possible at that time due to their own incompetence. It is simply unacceptable.
Otherwise, the room was very worn, but in a beautiful location.
