Excellent hotel with great service
Beautiful on the outside and inside.
Service is exceptionally reliable, fast and very attentive.
We were able to celebrate a fantastic wedding in the very beautiful premises.

Great hotel with " quirks "
A hotel run by a ghost hand.
We arrived on 07/25/2026 and looked in vain for a person at the reception. Passing guests explained that we had to familiarize ourselves with the " laptop-like " system on a wall and complete the check-in. So, corresponding prior knowledge in dealing with PC technology is expected (not necessarily to be assumed at over 88 years of age). Key card was generated and the search for the room " HEINRICH " began. Upstairs and downstairs in the main building without success. A tip from a guest, try it on the other side of the street, there is supposed to be a guesthouse belonging to the hotel. Reached the other side of the street, found the guesthouse. Entry with the card was unusually complicated but at least successful after some time of practicing.
My question to a lady of the house hurrying by about reserving a table for the evening was met with the note " it will be difficult and you will then have to wait up to 45 minutes for service, since we have an event,"
We refrained (as guests of the house) and provided for ourselves elsewhere.
The room was clean, tidy, and appealing.
The breakfast was comfortable and the service very friendly.
Checking out also worked (it was about the payment) perfectly.

Not again
Yesterday we were there eating with twelve people; I am only rating my dish here. I had ordered a Wiener Schnitzel and unfortunately it was a complete miss. The price is in the upper range, but the portion was disappointing: Two small, palm-sized veal cutlets, plus a small handful of fries came on a white plate – too little for a hungry person. The only side dish was a lemon slice on each schnitzel, along with an anchovy. The whole thing looked very sparse and was not plated nicely.
While the other guests received larger portions and even had their fries served separately, my dish lacked any salad or vegetables – which is a shame given the steep price. The schnitzels themselves were very thin, almost cold, and by no means filling. I had really been looking forward to the schnitzel, as I have had better experiences with the Grischäfer in Kassel. I was never disappointed there.
Today I watched the episode of "Mein Lokal, Dein Lokal" from 2023 again, where the schnitzels were significantly larger. My suspicion is that a wedding party was taking place in the large hall and I received a buffet portion, which explains both the small size and the cold temperature. Overall, I went home hungry and annoyed.
The service regarding my meal was good. The ladies were very friendly and the drinks were brought in a reasonable amount of time.
I would like to mention again that I am only reviewing my veal schnitzel here. The others were mostly satisfied with their meal.

Hervorragendes Hotel
Hervorragendes Hotel mit herausragender Gastronomie. Die Qualität der Speisen und Getränke ist besonders hervorzuheben. Preislich im Restaurant etwas weiter oben angesiedelt aber die Qualität und der Service sind dementsprechend sehr gut. Für geschäftliche Termine sehr zu empfehlen

Leider schlecht
Als Reiseleiterin einer Gruppe brachte ich ein Ehepaar im "Grischäfer" unter und war darüber froh. Die Bilder, die mich am kommenden Tag erreicht haben, waren alles andere als schön. Zimmer mit Ausblick auf den Küchenbereich und ohne Beleuchtung. Herunter hängende Vorhänge, das thematisierte Zimmer " Zur Hölle"
glich diesem auch. Das Zimmer wirkte unsauber; es gab keinerlei Abstellmöglichkeiten für die Koffer der Reisegäste. Vom Badezimmer möchte ich gar nicht reden.
Nach einer Diskussion mit Herrn Holzhauer am Tag unserer Abreise, bat ich ihn um Preisminderung für die beiden Reisegäste"
Noch niemals habe ich ich auf meinen Fahrten soviel "Unkulanz " erlebt und bin sowas von einem "HOTELIER" abgebügelt worden.
Die Reisegäste haben übrigens Ihrer vollen Preis gelöhnt.
Im Übrigen hatte ich das Gefühl, das Übernachtungsgäste aus "Ossi-Land" bei Herrn Holzhauer nicht willkommen sind.
