Great service, perfect location, fair price.

I was visiting a fair in Essen and booked this hotel because of the reasonable price and the good location, - just 30 min away from Duesseldorf Airport with the train and 10 min to the Fair Hall. When i have got there i found out that the train & bus station is just 1 min from the hotel itself, which was very convenient.
Room:
The room was clean and spacious, fitted with telephone, flat TV, safe and a bed of course – all perfectly in order.
Food:
I was very surprised with the breakfast. When I saw the buffet which was not really big I didn’t expect to find much there but i was wrong. During the 3 days i stayed, every single morning there was different food to choose from and all fresh, I have enjoyed it truly.
Personnel was very friendly and ready to help.
It was a good choice. I recommend it!

Fraud. DO NOT BOOK

I had booked 2 nights at this hotel, on 2 different dates.
I am canceling both reservations because our destination changes and both reservations are listed as "cancelled" on booking. However, the hotel still withdraws money for the one reservation and claims that only one has been cancelled, despite the fact that it is clearly stated on the booking that both have been cancelled. In addition, the hotel responded very clumsily and unprofessionally with "Be careful what you order". DO NOT book this accommodation if there is even the slightest chance that you will cancel your booking.

Ok... But...

Just back from a trip here must say ultimately for the money spent €198 per night the room was disappointing. I arrived just after 7pm so there was no one behind reception just self serve not an issue but the corridors were very dark, the rooms very basic the bed single with duvet and pillow, strong smell of smoke throughout. Wifi does not work beyond the ground and first floor leaving the business element struggling if like myself to catch up on emails at the end of a long day... Personally I wouldn't have paid €70 for this but I guess you need to make your own mind up.
Pros -
- it's a room in Essen for the show
- take the 103 underground tram from Essen rathausen
- good restaurant over the road
- metal roller shutters on Windows to block the world out
Cons
- smoke smell in rooms
- very expensive for the comfort etc
- wifi rubbish
- in reality a long way out by public transport
- corridors very dark and timers on lights go off quick

Comfort for resonable price

During EssenMesse fair we look for room it was very good choice : staf was nice, bed comfortable, breakfest ok, parking close maybe bathroom need renovation.
And wifi need big change to much complicated.

Nice stay off the center

We arrived late in the evening, the receptionist waited for us and gave us a very quiet room with a veranda and garden view. We slept very well. The room was really comfortable and big enough. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was generous and the staff were very friendly. The connection to the city center is convenient and do not miss a walk in the park of Schloss Borbeck. You will be surprised to see a baroque palace in Essen.
