Recommended hotel
Pleasant hotel with reasonable price in central location (right at the end of the fjord. Very good parking in a parking garage directly behind the hotel. Wheels can be parked in separate rooms. Loading via the courtyard side possible. Very friendly, competent and helpful staff, especially at the counter, Good breakfast buffet.

Unsatisfactory
No air conditioning, but you could borrow a fan, which was fine.
One bed was broken, so it wasn't a good night's sleep. (should have been discovered by the cleaning staff)
The staff regretted this, but did not offer any kind of compensation, which had been in place. Have stayed there several times, but this was probably the last time....

Such a shame!
I have been staying at this peticular hotel since 2010. The location is great, rooms are nice and the staff are lovely.
My experience this time around was a bag of mixed sweets and I need to underscore that staff is lovely and no one was horrible to me.
The check in procedure was annoyingly slow as the young man at the reception needed confirmation at all times from a senior member of staff on whether he was doing everything correctly or not. At one point he even claimed that I hadn't paid and wanted me to provide evidence for my payment. It turned out that the payment issue could easyly be solved by looking in their booking system. It wasn't the end of the world but just a very unpleasant welcome.
The room experience was an all together odd one and I think the bathroom is the best way to explain it. There's a dispenser fixed to the wall just over the sink. Believing it was soap I poured some of it onto my hands and got somewhat surprised when I realized that it was bodylotion. The handsoap dispenser itself is fixed to the wall just right over the bathtub. Why?
There's a beautiful little mini fridge in the room and the safe is placed over it. None of these 2 things works. Why have it there then?
One of the fiber duvets was so worn and torn that I can't believe that it went unnoticed by the cleaning staff. And, may I add, the mattress was so hard that it felt like I was sleeping on a pile of bricks - I have stayed there at least 20 times and always slept wonderfully. (That in itself is enough to never want to risk coming back - I'm hurting all over today!)
Last thing I want to moan about is this: 2026 - and you can only contact the hotel by phone. No email, no fax number. Now, hotels all over Europe want their guests to book directly with the hotel and avoid booking.com for a variety of reasons. I don't appreciate booking.com and the way they behave, but you can get in touch with the hotel right away and Ramada in Flensburg are great at replying swiftly. Why on God's green earth can I not write the hotel and email?
I'm afraid I'll never come back which makes me so sad.

It was Ok, staff were helpful, breakfast was the usual, the whole place needs some love, there was a puddle on the landing on our floor with water dripping through the ceiling. Our bathroom had cracked tiles etc.

Everything fine except that the room was facing the water and neighbour to the police station, it is noisy during night as the windows are of bad quality.
