Very suitable pension after daily exploration
All the tables in the dining room were set with tablecloths, candles and pepper/salt shakers.
The breakfast buffet offered us cheese, sausage, yoghurt and muesli. There was a boiled egg every day. We were well-fed, although the usual plain quark with homemade jam was missing.
The half board consisted of 3 courses: soup and dessert, with a main course of meatballs with beans, schnitzel with peas and carrots and pork strips with Brägel. From the wine selection, we could choose a Sauvignon Blanc or Sasbacher red wine to go with the meal. The meals were a bit salty for our usual salt-free cuisine, but we were aware of this. After our hikes, we were able to enjoy a glass of wine spritzer every evening on the outdoor terrace. It did us good and we were very happy to be able to relax here in a very pleasant atmosphere. We found the external path from the accommodation to the guest room along the street a little annoying, even though it was in the same building.

Food good - service okay
We were greeted in a friendly manner and asked if we could sit outside because it was dry again by now. The waitress replied: "Check for yourself whether there is still space available." We looked and then sat down inside.
We ordered and got our food and drinks very quickly and the waitress asked if we liked it.
The food was very tasty and there is a lot to choose from. At least if you are not vegetarian or vegan.
After eating, we sat for quite a while and were asked to leave the restaurant at around 8.30 p.m. That was a bit of a shame because we wanted to order dessert, but it wasn't a problem for us.
We weren't quick enough and were then literally chased away.
The food was great, but I don't know if I would come again.

Schade
Kässpätzle oder Apfelpfannkuchen, keine Vegane Alternative, das will man auch gar nicht. Der Service / die Küche sind diesbezüglich regelrecht bockig. Ich hab sowas noch nie erlebt. Schade. Nicht mal der Salat kann ohne Joghurtsauce serviert werden ?!
Ich suche mir nächstes Mal gleich was anderes

Ein paar Sterne für unser Gasthaus vor Ort
Gerne würden wir mal ein paar Sterne dafür vergeben. Auch seit der Pandemie
funktioniert der Abholservice einwandfrei, sei es mit der korrekten Zeiteinteilung
sowie das perfekte Einhalten der Hygienemaßnahmen.

heerlijke plek!
Wat een fantastische plek om te verblijven dichtbij de Zwitserse grens. De kamers zijn royaal (meestal met balkon) en een (beetje gedateerde) goede badkamer. Het hotel heeft een heerlijk terras waar je uitkijkt over de glooiende heuvels. Zowel het ontbijt en avondeten waren prima verzorgd, voor een meer dan goede prijs (70 euro voor de kamer incl. ontbijt en halfpension voor 14 euro). Ook voor motorrijders een heerlijke plek.
What a fantastic place to stay close to the Swiss border. The rooms are spacious (mostly with balcony) and a (slightly dated) good bathroom. The hotel has a lovely terrace with a view over the rolling hills. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, for a more than good price (70 euros for the room including breakfast and half board for 14 euros). Also a wonderful place for motorcyclists.
