Best hostel in Hamburg!
This hostel, although quite far from the city center, is located in a very lively neighbourhood and is easily accessible by subway.
The female and LGBTQIA+ friendly dormitories have their own floor, so it is very safe. The rooms are very nice and clean, I felt like I was at camp!

Disappointment
Unfortunately very disappointing!! Employee (worked on 03.09 in the afternoon) extremely unfriendly and disrespectful to us! No communication possible, despite our objective and justified criticism.
The booked double room was in catastrophic condition, it was just everything extremely dirty, from the floor to the furniture, duvets and mattresses as well, at an overnight price of 100 euros!! It was all gross! When we approached the employee, we were treated very unkindly, ignored at first and then not taken seriously. No talk about any refund or other solution possible, just received quick comment "if you want to go, then go, the night must be paid", she then left us lying and just walked away! We have never experienced such a level of unkindness! Of course they didn't stay and certainly won't come back!

Very good location, friendly staff and nice ambience.
I had to find cheap accommodation very spontaneously. I then came across this Hostel via various search engines and comparison portals.
The location is perfect for me. Very close to the trendy Sternschanze district and the many restaurants and cafes there. In addition, the LIDL, Rewe and Penny markets are within walking distance.
I was staying in a 12-bed room right at the busy intersection. Anyone who disrupts traffic and/or music while falling asleep should look for something else or resort to earplugs. It wasn't bad for me.
You have a small lockable compartment/locker in the room where you can easily store your valuables and a normal backpack.
You get a room key and a front door chip to be able to come any time of day and night. I was told to lock the room when leaving when I was last in the room. But not everyone has adhered to that.
There is a very well equipped kitchen where you can cook, eat, sit and chill. Two large refrigerators where you can store your food labeled.
In addition, coffee and tea is available 24/7 for free.
Unfortunately, I cannot confirm that the beds are cleaned, disinfected or made after leaving a person. There might be room for improvement (and possibly give disinfectant wipes to each new guest so he/she can clean the locker, bed or mattress himself/herself).
Toilets , showers and common areas were cleaned at least on Saturday. Whether Sunday I can't say...wasn't always present.
Beer, soda and water could be purchased during the day and sometimes at night (as long as a small refrigerator was still filled) for small money.
The staff was super friendly, friendly and very dedicated.
I felt really comfortable here and will definitely try to get a bed on the next Hamburg trip here.
Price was about 23€/night.

A great option for backpackers
Instant Sleep has several rooms with cool designs and bunk beds. It also has shared bathrooms and showers, a kitchen and a chill section. I spent 2 nights here with three of my friends. It gave us what exactly we were looking for, cheap accommodation with four walls, a roof and some privacy. However, spending more time here might not be that ideal, so I can only recommend this place for real backpackers and travellers.

Good hostel, but 'Instant Sleep'? Not on a Saturday night!
I spent a weekend here, and while it's a comfortable hostel in an interesting area, the name 'Instant Sleep' doesn't apply on Saturday nights because of the noise from the bar downstairs, punctuated occasionally by sirens. You soon realize why there's an earplug dispenser at reception.
Sunday night was fine, though. The hostel has a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, and the facilities you'd expect, including excellent wifi. Not luxurious, but it attracts a fun-loving crowd and is an enjoyable place to stay if you're in the area.
