Very nice for 1-2 nights
The good thing - renovations are regularly taking place. The downside - it happens during business hours. In our case, the carpet in the hallway was replaced. It is not loud, but you walk through the construction site and you could hear the workers in the morning. The hotel should have adjusted the price for that.
Otherwise, very clean, and what has already been renovated (e.g., the breakfast room) is very appealing and cozy. The buffet has everything one could wish for. The rooms are a bit small, and we missed blackout shades. But it is very quiet considering that you are in the middle of the city.

Outside Hui, inside a disappointment
A beautiful, apparently newly renovated building. It looks very welcoming. From the outside. However, unfortunately the restaurant (which we had in good memory) has disappeared, which has become an oversized breakfast room with the charm of a canteen. It's too bad. The hotel is not barrier-free, there are steep steps, it is winding and strenuous if you want to bring even the luggage to the room. No help was offered. The interiors are a major disappointment. The ambience looks more like a hostel: sober, unadorned and rather cheap. The rooms (3x single rooms booked) are loveless and spartan, but clean. Only the carpeting (even in the corridor) longs for cleaning. The mattress very firm and the pillow too small/flat. Luckily I had one of my own. No fridge, no drink (Selters would have been nice and would have cost only a few cents) For this in the staircase a silent drinks and snack vending machine. A flat screen in medium PC monitor size, lamp cable wrapped unattractively around the foot, no mirror in the room - only in the bathroom. The shower cheap as in the 1980s, not at ground level. The furniture functional. A bed, a better kitchen chair, built-in furniture. An armchair would not have cost a fortune and made the room more comfortable. Is it common these days that the room is not cleaned daily and the bed is made? The highlight was breakfast. Unbelievable 15€/per person for absolutely below average, cheap quality (we had additionally invited 2 people for breakfast) TC baked-on rolls, cheapest Metro products, sliced cheese, shaped ham, small mini liver sausages, tasteless Brie. Leather-like fried eggs, scrambled eggs floating in condensation (visible from the tetrapack), expired butter pieces... The only plus: a good coffee machine. What always amazes me: why doesn't anyone from management actually check the processes at such a buffet? The cooling unit has no door lock, there is no plate shelf in front of it. The egg rechaud sloshes the condensation water onto the plates and eggs when opened (should be hinged backwards). Especially negative: you produce a lot of packaging waste with a breakfast. It's been better for a long time. You just have to want it. And the cleaning cloth over the tap on the counter is also an unsightly sight. Conclusion: the first house on the square has the quality of a cheap motel. Frustrating.

Nice room , good breakfast.
This hotel is the best in town.No elevator, but they carried our luggage to the 3dr floor. Kamen is a typical German town. Taxis are availible but you are better off exploring it on foot. Beware of the smokers in restaurants. We had one with a cigar on the next table.

Basic but clean
So the rooms are basic but clean and the staff are very friendly. At breakfast there us a wide range of food available. The wifi is slow but sufficent for web browsing. The hotel is right in the center of Kamen
