An excellent hotel in a great location. Stuff was very helpful, allowing late check out. Breakfast was very tasty with large variety of food. Highly recommend!

Conference hotel in Karlsruhe

Perfect location, great rooms, perfect service and order, comfort and nothing to complain about simply. I would definitely choose the same hotel next time. Nice breakfasts by the way!

I stayed at Novotel for 3 weeks whilst I was working in Karlsruhe. It's very well located near the theatre, the shopping mall and easy to walk into the town. The hotel is very clean and staff very helpful. It's a corporate style hotel, so very clean and functional.
I don't think this would be relevant if one is there for a short stay, but for the longer 3 week stay it became difficult as the housekeeping time window is any time up to 3pm, so trying to plan my day around being out of the room for house keeping, was difficult and unpredictable. And their consistency on what they refilled (tissues, bathroom supplies, minibar, coffee etc) and clean sheets was also not consistent and I had to ask for things various times over the three weeks, that I felt should have been automatically attended to every day.
However this is a small point as overall it's a very reliable and excellent hotel. And highest praise for how quiet it was!!

Back, after a long absence.

It was with great pleasure that we came back to the Novotel Karlsruhe City, a hotel we frequented almost monthly for years. Since then, there have been renovations in the rooms, and unfortunately for us, the hotel has decided to pass the bill on to its guests, hence increases in rates that we consider excessive (rates almost doubled). We had therefore stopped staying there for this reason. This time we were able to benefit from an interesting promotional rate, and we returned with great pleasure. What to say about this stay: that we were well received (in French, this is the 1st time, by a young girl of Malagasy origin), the staff was courteous and smiling (more than in our memories, when sometimes the welcome was distant and rigid), we were upgraded to an executive room (thanks to the good respect of the loyalty program All). The room was very design, but, as often with what is design, less functional. There is, for example, less storage space than before (2 drawers, no wardrobe) and the volume of the room is truncated by 2 imposing armchairs (one with footrest and another rocking-chair way that can be dangerous if one bumps into the feet that are very long). The bedding is very good but unfortunately the pillows do not follow, as before we found the same defect (repeatedly reported): pillows too flat and too soft, bad for the cervicals. The parade consists of asking for a double set of pillows at the reception and layering them to arrive at a more acceptable, though imperfect, thickness. We really find it a shame that since all these years, and despite extensive renovations, the hotel has not questioned the quality of its pillows, yet it is one of the two pillars of a successful night (good bedding and good pillows), for this reason we do not give the maximum rating. As for the rest, everything was very good: a good breakfast, well renewed, nice and efficient staff, discreet service, a nice bartender that we were pleased to find (although he did not necessarily recognize us). We had a very pleasant stay and we only regret one thing: that the rates charged prevent us from being able to return more regularly, we cross our fingers so that the Directorate departs and understands that there is really too large a difference in rates (for equal services) with its counterparts in other German cities in the vicinity (Mercure Saarbrücken, Mercure Frankfurt (both also renovated and franchised, but which do not transfer the amount of their work to the customers...) which make our choice (and probably also from other potential customers) is elsewhere, we find that there are, for example, few reviews from a French customer when the border is not very far away. Perhaps the hotel is a franchisee, in which case we would appreciate it if it would share this opinion with the investor who runs it.
We would have liked to be able to share our opinion via the satisfaction questionnaire but we did not receive one (although this was the case before).
