Vacation

Lovely and spacious room. Generous, filling breakfast with welcoming innkeepers. Donau was low so not able to take a boat to Weltenberg. Took a bus instead. There are small boats for hire, check with Walter, the innkeeper for info! Lovely town with Schneiderweiss brewery!

The perfect place to stay in a lovely town

In all our travels we have rarely received so warm a welcome and so much generous assistance as at Pension Dietz. Walther and Gerty are charming, and their pension is delightful. The rooms are all different, but all are very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The breakfasts are beyond wonderful. Walther enjoys speaking his excellent English, and both seem to take pleasure in helping guests to find their way around the many places of interest within reach of Kelheim. We were very glad to have followed up on their recommendation to dine at the Weisses Lamm 5 minutes walk away. We were already familiar with the cruise through the Danube gorges to the incomparable Kloster Weltenburg, but they they researched the best way for people like us who don't drive in Europe to reach the tiny town of Rohr and its abbey with a magnificent sculpture by E. Q.Asam. By the way, the price is very good. This is a stay to be repeated!

Nice pension

Stayed here for one night in June. We got a big, wonderful room with bed and sofa for only 72 euros a night. Very clean. Breakfast was included, and was very good. Good selection of bread, cheese, ham, eggs and jam, and also yoghurt and musli. Central location in the old part of Kelheim, near the cathedral and a short walk to the river and the boat to Weltenberg and Donaudurchbruch. Can really recommend this pension.

Jederzeit gerne wieder...

Wir waren im August 2026 für eine Woche in der Altstadtpension Dietz und es hat uns dort sehr gut gefallen. Die Gastgeber sind äußerst zuvorkommend, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind liebevoll und modern eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Auch beim Frühstück fehlt es an nichts, es hat Sterne-Hotel-Niveau. Hinzu kommt die zentrale und trotzdem sehr ruhige Lage direkt im Zentrum der Altstadt. Wir haben uns in der Altstadtpension Dietz sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir empfehlen diese hervorragende Unterkunft gerne weiter und kommen bestimmt wieder.

Wir hatten zwei Übernachtungen und waren rundum zufrieden:
- freundliche und hilfsbereite Inhaber mit tollen Tipps für Ausflüge und Restaurants
- ein großes, modern und komfortabel eingerichtetes Zimmer zu einem fairen Preis
- ein erstklassiges Frühstücksbuffet
- ein sicherer Unterstellplatz für unsere Räder
- last but not least eine ausgezeichnete zentrale Lage im historischen Zentrum von Kelheim
Wir kommen gerne wieder.
