Great food for a fair price.

Just a nice snack eaten in a good ambiance. Food good, service friendly. Here you can sit down with peace of mind for a great meal for a fair price.

It's all right

The room is large enough for two people. Helpful is a list of TV channels that you have to click through so far. The bed was comfortable for me and faces the backyard. It made it quite quiet. However, the bathroom urgently needs a renovation. There is a plate breakfast (sausage, cheese, tomato, cucumber) and a pot of coffee, which is enough for me. In addition, you could take yogurt and jam. A variation or two would be nice. Overall, the price-performance is right for me.

A successful family celebration

Organizing a family celebration with 16 people in Kleve is a big challenge for anyone, but especially for me, because I live in Baden-Baden. After a long search on the Internet, I decided on the Hotel Zur Post. My advantages:
1. I had affordable accommodation for myself and my guests.
2. The hotel had a restaurant with rooms for the celebration.
3. The restaurant had a good selection of dishes that suited everyone.
4. I could take the tram from the train station right to the door.
5. The hotel was in the middle of the city, so I could easily reach all the shops.
The hotel:
My room number 4 faced the back, so I could sleep well. Shower, toilet, WiFi and a desk covered my needs. The breakfast with fresh rolls from the bakery opposite, plenty of sausage and cheese and fresh coffee made me happy. Delicious gluten-free bread was also put on the table for my guest with a gluten allergy.
All the prerequisites for a successful celebration were already in place.
Juan, the Spanish restaurant manager and I met for a meeting and wine tasting. After a detailed discussion about Spanish wines, I decided on a Spanish Sauvignon "biurko" from Rioja and a red "Vranec" from Macedonia and that was the best decision.
We then spontaneously decided on a Spanish evening with homemade sangria, crispy garlic bread with aijoli and Spanish music as a welcome.
A special menu was printed out especially for my guests.
The guests had the choice between grilled salmon, chicken or turkey fillet. Schnitzel in Viennese, pepper or hunter style. Sirloin steak with braised onions. Pork medallions with pepper, champignon or Madagascar sauce. With a choice of chips, fried potatoes, baked potatoes, rösti, djuwetsch or buttered rice.
For dessert: hot brownie with vanilla ice cream.
We were full and happy. A successful celebration. I got more than I expected.
Hotel manager Zdenko Busic with his partner and Juan, as well as all the other employees, are a well-coordinated team. In addition to our celebration, the evening business continued and the restaurant was full. The manager himself was in the kitchen at the pan and was always deeply relaxed, charming and smiling in a friendly manner. Respect for the whole team, given so much stress!

OK

A small, inexpensive hotel. If you want to sleep in a 4 square meter double bed with a gap for visitors, this is the place for you.
Service is OK.
Please note: the parking lot is accessed from the back and is not so easy to find, it is on the right of the entrance to a parking garage - google it first!

A bit pricy for what it offers...

Pros:
Location and parking on the back.
Restaurant downstairs is pretty good.
Clean.
Friendly staff.
Cons:
A bit hard bed.
Terrible Wi-Fi.
Old house, so a lot of noise come from the stairs and people on the floors above.
No kettle, no teas, no soap, no shampoo.
Breakfast is pretty basic.
