Great value in centre of Cologne
We stayed in the duplex which is right at the top of the building so a lot of stairs. It is spread over two floors with two lovely bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs with balconies on both sides and you can see the cathedral. Downstairs has another balcony, tv, fridge and some chairs. We used the sofa bed - it wasn’t amazing but definitely did the job. Hotel doesn’t look great from the outside but had a decent breakfast, staff were helpful and it’s an easy walk to the cathedral etc. There are car parks nearby and it was easy to find. Would recommend for the price and location.

Never - rip-off
Booked a large room for 260, on Sunday the room was cancelled with justification credit card does not work.
Now I can book a small room for 270.

Nice but...
Very helpful and friendly staff, especially the girl who prepared us breakfast (much appreciated!) who spoke great Italian. Classic hotel with narrow stairs (no lift) and a nice breakfast room. Room without infamy or praise. The area in the evening is a bit dark and the nearby bars are more youthful street food, with what comes with it. To review the cleanliness, we found the socks of previous guests on the radiator...

The WORST hotel I've ever stayed in. I'M NEVER COMING BACK.
From minute one, the experience at Hotel Cara Vita was a real disaster. If you’re thinking of booking here, do yourself a favor and look for somewhere else, because this hotel is a full-fledged scam.
For starters, there's no elevator. If you’re in a room on the upper floors, be prepared to carry your bags down uncomfortable stairs. But that's the least compared to the brazen robbery we got with the payment. We were charged in advance when we had agreed to other conditions through Booking. And as if that weren't enough, they removed our reservation from the platform, leaving everything without a trace. Very suspicious and unprofessional.
The room was another huge disappointment. They promised us a terrace and what they gave us was a midget balcony. And the worst part: in the single room, the bathroom was on another floor, so if you wanted to use it, you had to go downstairs. Total absurdity. In addition, the cleanliness shone through its absence: the sheets were stained with drops of blood (filthy) and the toilet moved alone, forcing us to fix it every two by three.
The staff is the worst I've ever encountered in a hotel. They are high-handed, incompetent and do not even speak English or German well. Their attitude is total indifference, as if they were doing you a favor.
Security is nil. We did not leave our bags at reception because they were kept in the breakfast area, unattended and without the possibility of closing it. Anyone could come in and take whatever they wanted.
The only good thing is the location, but honestly, with the number of hotels in Cologne, this place is NOT worth it. It's very expensive for the lousy quality it offers.
If you want to ruin your stay in the city, go ahead and book here. But if you value your money and your peace of mind, run away from this place. LOUSY from start to finish.

X-mass shopping in keulen Germany. Perfect in week days. Shopping center are open. HOTEL cara vita is the best location for use.
Hotel cara vita is small family hotel. For shopping, locate near center, parking also. Breakfast is excellent for what you pay. Personel is helpful. Short stay, with big group. I think this hotel is perfect. Passing by is kind of hard. No lift. Good sleep.
