Very good traditional restaurant
I've been there a couple of times for dining. Extensive regional menu and an interesting selection of German wines. prices are more than reasonable and in line with the average fares around.

For us, this stay was a complete disappointment
We had booked the room by phone about two months before our stay. As we understood it, 85 euros per night for one person was agreed upon. For use as a double room, an additional 10 euros per night was to be added without any complications. Breakfast was also explicitly promised to us over the phone as being included.
We had requested written confirmation of the booking and the agreed-upon terms several times. However, we were repeatedly assured that everything was settled, that we did not need to worry, and that they had our phone number after all. We relied on these clear statements and therefore refrained from continuing to demand written confirmation. In hindsight, this very trust was our mistake.
During the final billing, the manager could not or would not remember the price agreements made previously. Instead of the agreed-upon price, 120 euros per night was suddenly demanded. In response to our objection, we were merely told that we should check the internet, as there was nothing cheaper available anyway.
From our perspective, this statement was simply untenable. There are certainly more affordable accommodations in the immediate vicinity. The Achat Hotel, for example, is only about 1.2 kilometers away and, according to our research, was cheaper, sometimes even including breakfast. Other hotels in the area also offered a significantly more convincing overall package at comparable or lower prices.
Furthermore, the breakfast that was promised over the phone was suddenly no longer included in the price. An additional 8 euros per person was charged for it. An extra 3.50 euros was added for two eggs.
In our view, the breakfast was extremely poor for this price. The selection consisted essentially of simple supermarket products: two types of cheese, three types of cold cuts, packaged croissants, yogurt, and homemade jam. There was no fruit, vegetables, salads, quark, or cream cheese during our stay. One of the two juices offered tasted very sour and was inedible for us. The drip coffee was so thin that even a small splash of milk turned it into nearly light brown water.
Upon entering the hotel, we immediately noticed a distinct smell of cigarette smoke. People smoked regularly in an adjacent area while the door to the hotel remained open. As a result, we felt that the smoke drifted through the building. For non-smokers, the smell was extremely unpleasant and hard to ignore.
Although the room did not smell strongly of smoke, it was stuffy and overall not very inviting. The entire hotel appears to be showing its age. It was also particularly disappointing that, despite booking a double room, there was no shared double bed, but only two separate beds.
We have visited many hotels and do not have unreasonable expectations. For us, cleanliness, reliability, a reasonable price-performance ratio, and above all, the fulfillment of agreements made are decisive. That is exactly what was missing here from our perspective.
We had deliberately chosen this hotel because of its location on the banks of the Main and due to the price mentioned over the phone. It was all the more annoying to be confronted with significantly higher costs in the end and to have to realize that hardly any of the previously promised conditions remained in effect.
For us, it is certain: We will not book this hotel again. We can only strongly recommend that other guests have every single price, all additional costs, the included breakfast, and the type of beds confirmed in writing in advance and not rely on verbal promises without such confirmation.
Based on our personal experience, what is offered is not in reasonable proportion to the price charged. There will definitely not be a repeat for us.

NIce clean quiet hotel directly on the Main river
We spent a night at this very clean hotel in Maintal-Dornigheim just east of Hanau. It is sited on the river, with just a bike path between the hotel and river. Quiet at night, breakfast was good. All you could ask for. Terrace dining in addition.

Preis- und Leistung sind nicht im Verhältnis
Leider Garcia Zimmer übel gerochen und die Inhaber hat dies aber leider nicht sonderlich interessiert. Die Inhaberin hat lediglich darauf hingewiesen, dass wohl die vorherige Zimmerbewohnerin streng gerochen hat. Für mich ein NoGo. .

Gruselig
Wir waren nur im Restaurant ohne Hotelübernachtung. Ich muss leider sagen, dass es mit 5,30 für eine Apfelschorle einfach viel zu überteuert ist. Der Handkäse hat 8,90 gekostet und war nicht mal in die Zwiebeln eingelegt, sondern diese nur drüber geschnitten. Die Bedienung war nett, hat aber auch kein eines Mal nach einem geschaut... leider nicht weiterzuempfehlen.
