Nice location
Location: great - central to everything Nuremberg & taxis right outside but train & metro not too far 18 min. walk. Lots of great restaurants around!
Cleanliness: fair-good - upon arrival the last thing we were told was that there were traps in the room for silverfish “in case” any were around. Upon entry, there was one very alive one in the bathroom sink & then on the counter, went down & got 2 more traps - yuck! We didn’t unpack anything & slept with low lighting on to keep the creatures away from the bed. Pillow case upon arrival had blood on it, so requested a new one. Closet smelled.
Comfort: fair-good. AC says down to 19c but was warmer, bed/pillows ok, we had a nice window to open/close if we wanted. TV & subtitles in German, except for a few news & one random in English. Pool was nice. Entry to spa/pool & shower area, may see naked people FYI. Paid massage was relaxing & nice. No complimentary coffee, a couple waters though & coupon for sorbet or cafe.

All-around successful stay.
We had a very pleasant stay. The accommodation was clean, cozy, and matched the description. The location was very good and communication with the host was uncomplicated and friendly. We felt completely comfortable and would book the accommodation again at any time. Clear recommendation!

A true neighbourhood gem — central, stylish, and welcoming
I recently spent 3 nights at the Karl August Hotel in Nuremberg, and it lives up to its description as a "neighbourhood hotel" perfectly. The location is unbeatable — central without feeling like you're in the middle of tourist chaos.
The hotel itself is beautifully designed, striking that rare balance of feeling luxurious without being pretentious. The staff were a real highlight — polite, attentive, and happy to help with anything, from lending adaptors to sorting an ironing board or extra bottled water.
My double room was spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully laid out. The spa and pool area is genuinely beautiful and shouldn't be missed, and the reception team kindly arranged a full-body massage for me, which was excellent.
A few things to know in advance, so there are no surprises: aside from basic toiletries, robe, towels, and water, there aren't extra in-room amenities like a fridge or tea/coffee facilities. That said, the lobby cafe more than makes up for it with great coffee and delicious pastries, and there's also a lovely little ice cream shop in the complex.
I only tried the hotel restaurant once, for breakfast, and wasn't especially impressed — I had to ask for a croissant that was supposedly included, and honestly the pastries from the cafe were better. To be fair, I arrived at 6:30am ahead of an early flight, so it may well be a stronger experience later in the service.
A few small additions would make it even better: an in-room kettle for a bedtime tea, slippers to go with the robe, and the option of room service from the restaurant.
Overall, a genuinely great stay — I've already booked a return visit with my family for October.

my opinion
Very pleasant hotel, my room was superb, decor, interior architecture perfect down to the smallest detail! I would have found it pleasant to have something at my disposal in the room to make myself a little espresso or tea, without having to go down to the coffee shop downstairs. It's the same for the 2 bottles of water that are available in the room on the first day; they are not replenished by the housekeepers, you have to manage to find them to ask them to kindly put new ones for me, which they do very kindly, by the way. I would be willing to pay a supplement to have this comfort; in this type of hotel, it is something that seems expected to me. thank you
