The hotel is situated in a relatively remote area, and I selected it primarily because it offers a car charger and is priced reasonably at around 100€ per night, including breakfast.
I have found the hotel to be exceptionally clean, and the staff members are quite welcoming and attentive.
The room is spacious enough for my needs as I only utilize it during the night. While air conditioning is not a common feature in Germany, a small fan is provided; however, it tends to be somewhat noisy. I shared this feedback with the staff.
An inside pool with sauna is also very welcoming. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time for that.
Overall, I believe it is a commendable local hotel that offers a solid experience.

More style than substance... an absolutely overpriced restaurant and not good food.

The restaurant is nicely decorated. The dishes are very, very expensive for the quality and taste. We had a chanterelle cream soup that was, in any case, at most a chestnut soup, with absolutely no chanterelle taste, and the color couldn't have been right either. A small little soup for over 10 dollars, a joke. Another appetizer had more decorative arugula salad on it than the appetizer itself. With the side salad, a small bowl came; when you tried to eat the salad there, you had more salad lying on the table next to it than on the fork. Why can't they just use a larger bowl for the same amount so the guest can actually eat the salad? In terms of taste, it was completely unseasoned and lacked any kick. I had a small schnitzel for over 25 dollars! The children's schnitzels were just as big, only with fewer fries and no salad, and all that for much less. It was truly an outrage to pay so much for such a dish. Also, the daily special, the veal roast, was not braised as hoped, as stated on the menu, but rather tough and also lacked flavor. Then you get a piece of cake for almost 7 dollars with more whipped cream on it / even though it wasn't ordered with whipped cream, so everything else. They really need to rethink the price-performance ratio here. It is more style than substance; for a beef steak to be that gristly at a price like this, that is just not acceptable. And the side dish, a stuffed mushroom that came onto the plate as a ready-made convenience product, was terrible. Then the vegetables are just dumped into the sauce under the meat; where does something like that even happen? So we were there twice and were disappointed with everything each time. The non-alcoholic drinks are also totally expensive. I think it only works here because many travelers stop by since it looks nice.

There's still a lot of air up there

The single room country boy is fine. Not particularly big but ok. However, some of them are already quite old. The joints in the shower are moldy. Some of the in-room outlets and switches date back to the last century. Also the room door, also as a result the rooms are very noisy, if someone is in the hallway or the neighbors are talking, you understand every word.
The bed is really comfortable but very hard and at 140cm for 1 person absolutely sufficient. For the dog nothing was ready in the room, but is ok, I didn't expect it either.
The request for an extra towel was not fulfilled. The housekeeping had already finished work at 3 pm for Check In... Also in the wellness area there are no additional towels.
The breakfast buffet was very good. Great selection. On request, cappuccino or milk coffee was also available with lactose-free or oat milk. Egg dishes could also be ordered separately in addition to the scrambled eggs present on the buffet.
Buchna’s culinary afternoon is shaped by a voucher for 1 piece of cake. The advanced simple black coffee cost € 4.10!
Dinner again was very good! A small starter buffet with salad, antipasti, soup and bread was fresh and varied. Main course and dessert were a la carte and there was a good, abundant selection. It's delicious.
Tea is available in the wellness area in a large selection. In the library, which belongs to the wellness area, there is tea, but the accompanying kettle was not connected to the electricity and also no outlet far and wide to reach. The water was empty.
The spa area itself was clean, everything in good condition. Small but sufficient. However, children are allowed if it doesn't bother, it's just a bit louder.
At dinner dogs are allowed and I was also very surprised that you can actually take your dog to the open buffet. However, the dog is not allowed to drink anything at the table! When I asked why, they couldn't answer me. There is water available on the terrace for the dogs. So you get up every 20 minutes and take your dog out on the terrace. So that the tiles in the dining room are not soiled?!? If you don't seem to mind dogs, why this ganging?
Overall, the price level is too high and not up to the challenge. Considering that I have now paid almost 600€ for 3 nights with the HP alone...

Weekend with dog at Buchnas Landhotel Saarschleife

The Buchnas Landhotel Saarschleife is a very nice and absolutely dog-friendly hotel. Of particular note is the extremely friendly and attentive staff. We spent a weekend for four with half board there. Culinarily it was a real treat from breakfast to coffee and cake to dinner. However, a small downer was our room (country boy). It was clean and tidy but so small that we had to put a chair in the hallway so that our medium-sized dog can find space. The bathroom was very very small and at night we heard the neighbor in the next room snoring loudly. That disappointed us a little bit. Nevertheless, we enjoyed a nice hiking weekend in Saarland.

Very mediocre!

We had a small room facing the street with a small balcony where there was not even an umbrella. The much praised breakfast turned out to be average as well. The Service was very friendly. Overall, there was a large discrepancy between the upscale price level and supply. For this nightly rate you can find much nobler accommodation.
