Solid four-star hotel, but not top

The friendliness is clearly easier for the junior boss and the young service staff. So both the reception and the farewell by the senior manager were reserved, the young boss was very always friendly and carried our suitcases to the room on the second floor, there is no elevator. The hotel is already clearly outdated, which can be seen in the outdoor area and also in the interior design and the rooms. Our room (Zugspitzblick) unfortunately had carpeting (there were guests who had the dog in the room....), a bed with divided mattresses, the bed frame has accompanied every turn with a ratchet and a very small bathroom (about 2x2.5m) with a no longer contemporary bathtub with folding wall (for showering) and high entrance.
Air conditioning is not available, so it should be very hot in the room in the summer.
The gastronomic offer is fine.
The 3/4 board we booked included a daily breakfast, an afternoon snack and the evening menu.
For breakfast there was a delicious and varied bread and roll offer, egg dishes, sausage, ham, bacon, salmon, abundant cheese, cereal, fruit, juices, smoothie and sparkling wine.
The afternoon snack consisted of a soup, bread and a bulgur salad. Here I would have liked some ham and cheese. Coffee and cake must be ordered and paid for separately.
For dinner, you choose between two four-course dishes (one vegan) in the morning. There was nothing to complain about here either in terms of taste or quality. The dishes tasted good and were absolutely sufficient from the portion size (and were always served hot!).
There is an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam bath and infrared thermal bath, all a bit old style. The back massage at the spa was fine.
It is mostly older guests (sixty plus) who visit the hotel, many of them probably regulars. Plenty of parking is available on site.

Sisterhood

The three of us have now treated ourselves to a wonderful weekend in Mittelburg for the third time. A wonderful, small, very warm hotel. We love the view from the large windows of the Himmelecksuite. This time the weather was icing on the cake on the perfect arrangement. The family is wonderful. Many beautiful pictures of different walks remain. The food and service is tiptoe ☺️. The massages... sauna... Relaxation very nice .

Family-run friendly wellness hotel

This is the second time I've stayed at this family-run friendly hotel.
This time I also got a double room as a solo traveler.
The food was good as usual. There were also exercise offers.
Too bad there was no dinner for two days.

A special hotel to feel good about - relaxation guaranteed

The Mittelburg is a family-run, exceptionally stylish hotel to feel good about. The rooms are all very cozy and furnished to a high standard. The bar with open fireplace and adjoining conservatory is impressive, as are the adjoining parlours. Outdoor terrace with covered area, inviting seating and spacious garden in the outskirts of the village and with a view of the Allgäu mountains. The wellness area with indoor pool and numerous saunas, steam bath and beautiful relaxation rooms is top. There is a spacious, light-flooded and well-equipped gym and two days of free work-out/yoga or water gymnastics for guests. The care provided by the Mayr family and the Mittelburg team is warm and soothing. Here you are open and honest about the guests. The food is excellent, both breakfast and dinner - rarely eaten so well. The town of Mittelberg is also worth a visit - quietly located and like a picture book. From there you can quickly reach many places in the Allgäu. We will definitely book again and look forward to seeing you again !

The Mittelburg hotel was for us a place of peace, well-being, super wellness, a place of hospitality and fine service culture with very wholesome food. 3 beautiful and relaxing days in a dreamlike landscape. Place to like to come back.
