REALLY nice Hotel
We, as Americans, entered the hotel and asked "sprechen sie English".... ja! Hallo Mr Jackson"....... the hotel building is VERY old and the decor denotes it with awesome accents. We were given our key and walked up the creaky steps to our room. Wow...very cool and nicely remodeled. The ambiance is very cool with deer antlers on the walls, old pics...... its just cool. The room is roomy, the bathroom big and everything is perfect. Carmen is the one that may greet you and Carmen, if you read this.... i would ONLY say you didn't get 5 stars because of the pillows. You get one pillow each and it's TOO soft and doesn't support one's head. 2 Pillows (one a bit firmer) would make this a nearly a 5 star. Free breakfast is great...not a great selection although they cooked us eggs and they were incredible. Very rich yolk flavar on the spiegel eire. I will definitely stay here again. thanks Carmen and staff!

Romantic rooms and delicious food!
The location is great! It is right in the middle of Wendelstein and it doesn't take long to get to Nuremberg from here either. The actual hotel is very easy to find and if you are lucky there is parking right outside the front door! The streets are tight but everyone is very patient so take it slow.
The actual hotel is very old and has been fixed up really well. They have decorated it with some traditional German hunting trophies and antique trinkets. The whole place feels like a home and it was nice to come back to after a big day in the city.
Our room was great. Even though we were on the roadside of the building we couldn't hear anything and the curtains blocked out any street/car lights at night time. We had a great bathroom with a proper bath and shower which was really cool and our bed was very comfortable! The tv had some english channels and overall it was a really comfortable room. It had also snowed overnight but the room stayed warm the whole time.
One thing I encourage you to do it to try the schnitzel! I have been to many places in Germany trying schnitzel and this place does the best I have had. They also do a great breakfast. I had a really great time here and will definitely visit again.

Great hospitality
My boyfriend and I stayed at this great bed and breakfast while visiting his brother..right in the middle town..room was very clean..great breakfast in the morning..not a lot of amenities but we didn't want that ..wanted something very simple wanted to be in the heart of wendelstein..

Super Essen in freundliche Bedienung
Das Wenden ist ein schönes Hotel und Restaurant mitten in Wendelstein. Das Restaurant ist nett eingerichtet und sehr gemütlich. Sehr gehobenen Küche.
Absolute Highlights:
- Steinpilz- Carpaccio
- allerbeste Wildbratwürste
- selbst gemachter Kartoffelsalat (mit Kartoffeln aus dem Ort)
- Hirschbraten
Alles super lecker und frisch.

schönes altes Fachwerkhaus - aber
die Zeit scheint ein wenig stehen geblieben zu sein. Das Lichtkonzept im Haus ist überholt, alles ist zu dunkel, im Zimmer lässt sich kaum lesen, im Eingangsbereich des Zimmers überhaupt kein Licht, die Matratze durchgelegen. Warum wir ein Zimmer zur lauten Straße bekamen, obwohl reichlich freie Zimmer in ruhiger Lage vorhanden gewesen wären, blieb unklar.
Frühstück war ausreichend, Bedienung freundlich.
