Robenstein Aktivhotel & SPA: đánh giá

Pleasant stay
4 ****star hotel. There is soup , a salad buffet (every evening the same salads, not varied) bread (baguette), main course, dessert (are served.). The SPA area is beautiful, has everything you need. (Unfortunately there were no more juices, the fruit is quickly gone and will not be refilled) and nut mix. There is only water with mint or with lemon peel and tea. There is no lunch and no coffee and cake!!! It'll be long until evening.
Rooms pretty and clean. Staff nice and attentive.
Unfortunately, the massage prices have also been increased. It's a shame.

Unfortunately only 3 out of 5 stars
We have already been to the Robenstein Hotel in Zwiesel for the fourth time and have basically felt comfortable again this time. The hotel has a lot to offer: a great location with beautiful views, hiking areas right on your doorstep, tasteful rooms and a really nice spa area. We stayed in the villa for the second time and like the ambience there very much. Another special highlight is the spa area with sauna village, where you can relax for a whole day. The sauna master also tried very hard and even made infusions when only a single guest was present. The staff was friendly, attentive and accommodating for the most part.
Nevertheless, unfortunately, a more critical evaluation is due for the first time after this stay. The first star deduction results from many small things that are not serious when viewed individually, but would make the stay more pleasant. In our room, one side of the bed was missing a bedside lamp. The make-up mirror was loose and could not be adjusted properly vertically – this was the case in the same room last year. The bathtub in the villa rooms is nice, but the shower partition is very small, so it is not quite easy to keep the bathroom dry when showering. A simple shower rod for hanging the shower head would already improve a lot here.
Another point concerns the sauna village: With several saunas, the tile floor in the entrance area becomes very hot, so that it burns unpleasantly on the feet when entering. A wooden floor, such as is present in the Finnish sauna in the main house, or simple rubber mesh mats, such as are common in other saunas, would probably quickly remedy this. Somewhat irritating was also the reaction of the sauna master, who said on request that he had been pointing this out for over a year and that one should gladly report this additionally at the reception. Unfortunately, this left the impression that a known problem has apparently existed for some time without having been fixed.
There would also be easy ways to improve communication. We were not actively advised of the guest card when checking in. While we knew this offer existed, and didn't need it this time, other guests seemed irritated because they weren't informed about the tourist tax or the related services. A quick personal note at check-in or an in-room information folder would help a lot here. Similar at breakfast: The buffet is very extensive and good, in addition you can have eggs prepared fresh as desired. However, this is not pointed out to you, but rather happens to be overheard by other guests.
In previous stays there was also a sauna bag in the room. Especially if you have to switch from the villa to the spa area of the main house, that was very convenient. It is understandable if costs are saved on such small things. But then this should also no longer be advertised on the homepage with image and text in the room description. The opening hours of the sauna village have also been significantly restricted. Given the energy prices, this is understandable, but a clear overview on the homepage would be helpful – especially if you actually planned a whole day of wellness.
What is apparently new is the possibility to book the spa area in the villa for 15 euros per person for four hours. However, this offer was presented to us by a young, blonde employee at the reception rather listlessly and unconvincingly, with the suggestion that the area was nothing special and you had the offer in the main house. This gave the impression that you didn't really want to worry about booking. As a suggestion: We would find a real private spa offer in the villa, for example three hours exclusive for 50 euros per person, very attractive. The other private spa offer with 35 euros per person for an hour of hot tub we found rather too expensive in comparison and therefore did not use it.
The vital stations in the wellness areas could also be designed more lovingly. On the homepage, sufficient liquid and small snacks are advertised for in between. In previous stays there was still juice as well as various teas with hot water. This time there was essentially tap water with mint and citrus fruits or pure as well as a ready-made tea from the dispenser. As snacks, there were only apples or student food. In the lower wellness area, fruit flies at the station also felt quite comfortable. A little more variety, for example in fruit, would be nice.
All these points did not spoil our stay. Overall, it remains a beautiful hotel with many strengths. Nevertheless, it is just such little things that could make a good stay a very good one.
The second star trigger concerns a bigger annoyance: After our last stay, we received an email – as we did after this stay – asking for a review and a voucher code for a 10% discount for the next stay. We were happy about that, as we like to come back. However, when booking through the homepage, there was no field to enter the voucher code. So we booked first and then wrote to the hotel. We pointed out that there was no way to enter the code during the booking process. We were then assured in writing that the 10% will be noted at the time of booking and taken into account at the time of departure.
At check-in, they said that we probably couldn’t and we should discuss this with the colleague on the morning shift. The next morning, the young blonde receptionist, who had already explained the additional spa offer in the villa unconvincingly, pointed out to us in a very defining and unaccommodating tone that the voucher code should have been provided when booking. Afterwards, nothing is possible and the discount is not granted – despite prior written assurance. On our suggestion that there was no corresponding field in the booking process, it was said that we could have entered the code in “Further comments”. However, this field is under “Can we still grant you a wish? (non-binding)”. You don’t get that automatically with a voucher code, especially since the discount would have had to be entered manually anyway.
We do not understand why this should not have been possible despite written confirmation on arrival. Unfortunately, it gave the impression that they simply did not want to deal with it. This employee was thus expressly the exception among the otherwise very tried employees. Nor is it our concern that we would be decisively short of the 10% in economic terms. We were happy to pay for our stay. But the nature of the communication and, above all, the fact that a previously assured service was not granted on site, are clearly worth a further point deduction in our view.
Conclusion: The Robenstein Hotel remains a nice hotel with a great location, good wellness area and mostly very friendly staff. We can basically also imagine coming back. After this stay, however, some avoidable weaknesses and annoying handling of the guaranteed discount remain. That's why this time only 3 out of 5 stars.

Horror service
It started on the first day when I wanted to call the hotel 20 times to say that we will arrive later than planned. When we arrived at 20:20, we were told that we will not get anything to eat, as the restaurant would only be open from 18:20 to 20:00. Room service would not be available according to reception. For a refund or voucher we should ask again the next day. So did we, unfortunately we were told again that nothing could be done. Which sounded more like laziness or listlessness to me. At breakfast and dinner buffet the food was filled up rather sporadically, so we did not get any salad at all at the first dinner although we were in the restaurant at 18:30. Partly you were not served if you wanted to sit at a table by the window because you did not want to cover there.
Even bathing shoes we did not get from the hotel, "because these would have to be ordered first." We had never received any and were not told when they would be delivered.
The only thing that upgraded stay was the sauna area, beautiful and very pleasant. Also the sauna master was very nice and helpful.
We were extremely disappointed as the hotel looked very nice and promising. On the last day I had complained again about the inconvenience and asked if a staff shortage might be the reason. I was assured that they are completely staffed and there is no staff shortage, which I found much worse so everything already. There was a waiter who really tried and did everything great, Milan. With Milan, you noticed that the guest comes first. Unfortunately, you couldn't tell with the rest.
