Good cheap hostel

I have used Hotel De La Rue twice in November of last year and November of this year 2014. Its a charming little Hostel in Belgrano in Buenos Aires. I was able to get a single rom for about 37 bucks a night. Is a Historical building that has like a hundred years. It has a very unique style from the beginning of the 20th century. It is located in a quiet area and surrounded by nice restaurants and is close to two major avenues la Pampa and Los Incas. The only weird thing is that the shower and the toilet are right next to each other in the bathroom. the staff is friendly and they always seem to have a room available for somebody even if you did not have a reservation.

Not at all a good hotel

There are only 4 good rooms in the first floor near the breakfast area. Only 3 rooms have balcony. These 4 rooms have small kitchen. Although, Hotel does not provide any utensils. No micro oven, no laundry service. You have to survive with the A/C and a room heater. Others are just not up to the mark. Very old building. The cleaning staff do their duty yet you can find cockroaches and mosquitos. They serve exactly the same breakfast each and everyday with bread, butter, jam, tea, coffee. No meat, chicken or egg. None of the hotel staff knows English.
It's located near Belgrano R rail station. The area is peaceful and mostly residential. To get food or cigarette you need to walk for at least 500 meters.

Small rooms, small price

The best thing about this place is that it's cheap enough for any type of visitors. The rooms are quite small and I felt a little bit upset by the fact that some things well not working well there. Although it's far away from the center of the city, it is placed in a very quiet area.

Decent hotel in Buenos Aires

I think this is a decent hotel. The structure seems to have been charming in the past, now it's always well maintained, especially in the interior part, but outside I think it would need a little renovation (for example in my room there was a french window that was impossible to open and with only half blind .....). Anyway the room was very spacious (to be a single room) with a king bed and a small bed, and it was clean. I had two problems with the bathroom. First problem was the shower that was failing directly on the floor without any box or tray (there was only a little curtain), making very unconfortable to use the toilet after having used the shower. The other problem was the the bathroom door did not close because it was slightly bigger than the opening ..... anyway because I was alone in the room this has not been a great problem for me.
Breakfast is very basic even if they have fresh and very delicious croissants.
The staff is friendly and helpful even if they don't speak english at all.
Position is good having both MITRE and Subte at walking distance.

Good & Economical place in one of the best localities of BA

Hotel is situated in Belgrano, so as the location has it this is one old building but well maintained in terms of preserving the structure. The rooms are good enough with facilities for cooking as well. You can just roam around Belgrano and explore the beauty of the place thanks to the location of the hotel. To explore other places in BA and around you have a train station about a block away and a Metro station on one of the primary roads about a 10-15 mins walk. Unfortunately accept for breakfast they don't have food service but they have host of menus from where you can dial in for food and the staff is always happy to help. I would say its a very economical option at one of the best places in BA.
