A well located gem

Although we'd booked to twin rooms our accommodation turned out to be large apartment consisting of a dining room, a twin bedroom, a double bedroom and a further two singles. Perfect for four male septuagenarians.
The host and maid were extremely helpful, the continental breakfast largely satisfactory (better if you like cake) and the location made sights easily accessible. Highly recommended.

Friendly and helpful owner

We stayed here for about a week in Buenos Aires where we spent out 1st wedding anniversary.
Optimus BA is located at the 7th level of a residential building in Recoleta. There is a beautiful outdoor terrace and the place is decorated beautifully with lovely antique furniture and decor.
The best thing about Optimus BA is the kindly owner Hugo and his family who provide service with a personal touch. He helpfully gave us tips regarding restaurants and attractions, helped us to book taxis and even helped us to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary with a surprise personal touch at breakfast. Keep in mind though that Hugo does not speak English, however we were able to communicate with our limited Spanish skills.
The 2nd positive about Optimus BA is that it is a quiet and private residence. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the city but still walking distance to recoleta restaurants and the famous cemetry.
Optimus BA has a old style bed and breakfast feel. Stay here if you want to have a personal touch to your service in a nice and quiet location.

Personal Touch

If your looking for a place in the heart of Recoleta, look no further when it comes to a beautiful Bed & Breakfast like this. It sits on the 7th floor with a terrace. You feel like you own the place, but they make you feel that way. The attention is excellent and always giving some great advice. As a first time guest in Buenos Aires, we felt right at home. Entrance is private, elevator is small but a piece of history as you slide the doors and see the floors as you arrive to the Penthouse. Once you enter , your greeted with beautiful decor and the table that is served daily with fine pastry, fruits and all the trimmings of a fine continental breakfast.
Most of all, it's private. There was one other couple from Austria with us , but we pretty much had the place to our own. When you consider the value, the sacrifice is well worth it. Remember, there is no valet or parking unless you make arrangements well in advance. Something to consider when arriving . Hugo will give you the best advise on restaurants, points of interest and tips on how to move about. Can not say enough about this gem. It will be my home when I come to visit as long as there is a room for us.

Nice and homely

We were quite surprised by this place. It's one massive penthouse, half of which forms the B&B, run by a friendly elderly man who'll be able to give you some nice tips about what's close by. The room was very nice, with lots of old but beautiful furniture. Only thing we found a bit off-putting. Breakfast table hasn't yet been cleaned up whenever we returned to the place later in the afternoon.

Nice B&B in a great neighborhood

One thing we learned about Buenos Aires is that it's important to choose a good, safe neighborhood to stay in. Optimus is in Recoleta, one of the premier neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. We could walk back from dinner very late at night and be perfectly safe. And it was walking distance from many places of interest.This B&B is an apartment with several rooms and is adjacent to the owner's apartment. Our room was quiet, clean and private. Breakfast was the usual continental breakfast, but we were also given festive holiday pastries and candy because of the season.
We were there on Christmas Eve and Christmas, which is a very quiet time in Buenos Aires and most businesses and restaurants are closed. The owner found an excellent restaurant for us to go for Christmas eve dinner with good food and entertainment.
The owner does not speak English, so make sure you've got the Google Translate app ready to go. We were able to communicate just fine with him, but it's something to consider if you don't speak Spanish.
