Perfect

LOVED this place. Got there at almost midnight and walked in to candles burning and live trad music playing from the bar. Stayed in both a private room (in the main house) and a hostel room (in the old carriage house) and both were very comfortable. A nice continental breakfast is included, and the restaurant in the evening is delicious. There’s even a sweet woodland fairy path on the grounds. Wonderful place with really interesting history!

Great food, lovely atmosphere

Amazing food, great service. Would highly recommend. Friendly staff lovely welcoming atmosphere. Menu was varied, we ordered 5 different meals including the special and they were all top notch

The valley always a surprise at its best

Just back from the valley house for a dinner
We
Visited
the valley house bar and restaurants for years now as we live close we go for dinners
This evening has taken us all by surprise as the menu,
the specials and the whole experience was unsurpassed
The valley always delivers to the highest standards.
What we had tonight was like a revelation
For starters there was a beef salad we had before and it is a new addition to last year's menu delightful fresh innovative to say the least
There was equal specials on the menu like oysters and a parsnip and apple soup.
But the highlight was our special main course pork loin with mash and oyster mushrooms sauce
Now you would say what's so special about out is the way they executed that dish what makes it stand out the seasoning the presentation and texture the tender pork loin cooked to perfection it just was a league on there own
There is impressive skills behind all dishes
It's not fancy dishes it is comfort food of the highest standards.
The service and staff is equal friendly efficient and delightful.
More so it is where you like to go with friends family or just a couple to enjoy charming surroundings and the best of food.
Loved the experience thank you so much.

Ed needs more money

Ed deserves a raise, he was unreal and great please this man deserves more more money we loved him, come to Achill and stay here stay here it is so lovely there rooms are amazing, and the pub is beautiful come on a bank holiday for better craic, music is really really good and they have a pool table !!!! He will make amazing cocktails (limited)
Make sure Ed is working before you stay here :) xoxoxoxox

Bar in the hotel

It's always great when there's a bar/pub right in the hotel - and then a rustic one like this one with live music (on Thursdays). Very good food with attentive service. The bathrooms are separate from the rooms and unfortunately have no windows. In our case, the drain was slightly blocked. The room was bright and spacious. The only downside was that there was a slight amount of moisture on the ceilings. But the bottom line is: recommended!
