The Arbutus is the absolute best.

Family, friends and I have been going to the Arbutus for almost 35 years. There is no place better in all my travels over the years in multiple countries and throughout the USA. Cleanliness, location, atmosphere and value are all top shelf but the thing that will keep you coming back is how they make you feel like family. Food is great, breakfast is a comfort that will keep you going all day. I miss Mrs. Buckley, Betty and “Big” Dennis for sure and love connecting with Dennis, Tim, Michelle, Ina and new friends of course but especially my oldest friends there - Sean and Carol. I know it sounds hokey but they really do treat you like a member of their household. The music in Buckley’s Bar is fabulous 7 nights a week, great singalongs and what a mix of the locals and tourists. Don’t be shy, you are all very welcome in.

Thirty five years is a long friendship with a hotel, and we do not take it for granted. Thank you.
You are far from alone in missing Mrs Buckley, Betty and Big Dennis. They are talked about here all the time, so it is good to see them remembered by name.
It does not sound hokey in the slightest. That is exactly what we hope people take away from the place, and Sean, Carol and everyone behind the bar will be glad to know it still holds true after all these years.
Safe travels until the next trip. There will always be a seat waiting for you in Buckley's!

This is our 4th stay at this lovely family run hotel in downtown Killarney. The staff is so friendly and helpful and we love the attached pub Buckley’s that has traditional Irish music nightly.
Added bonus this year was the A/C that we haven’t needed in the past but was happy we had this time.

A 5 star experience in Killarney

Delighted to be back from Canada and welcomed at the Arbutus Hotel in Killarney. The staff were efficient, friendly and very helpful during my stay.
My room was clean, very comfortable and beautifully decorated.
The breakfasts were delicious, very fresh and there was a great variety to choose from. I especially enjoyed the fresh fruit selection and the Irish rashers!
The atmosphere in the hotel was warm and welcoming. Buckley's Bar became a favourite spot at night with the addition of traditional Irish music and lively conversation.
The Arbutus is in the heart of Killarney, steps from the train station, shops, restaurants and sightseeing.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sean and Carol's hotel and warmly recommend it.

It is a real pleasure to read, and the team will be delighted with it. There is not much that beats hearing a guest enjoyed the whole stay, and it is especially nice when someone has travelled as far as you did to get here.

100 years of excellence

You are in for a treat if you choose this hotel! You will be welcomed and looked after by a wonderful family. Lovely bedroom and excellent breakfast. What a great location, close to a choice of excellent restaurant options and back to Buckleys bar for the craic. This hotel knows how to make you feel special. I couldn’t recommend it more ❤️

Very charming hotel

Spent 5 days at the hotel. Very convenient location to all the bars and shopping. The staff there were incredible. Thank you to Sean, Carol and Mrs Buckley for making our stay feel like a second home.
