Relaxation

We arrived late at 2 in the morning thanks to Ryanair for two nights.
We were recommended and it didn’t disappoint at all. The breakfast was wonderful and we enjoyed to set us up for the day.
Total quiet and for us luxury. The staff were wonderful.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you again.

Not to be missed

If you want true hospitality, a good sleep, clean well equipped room and a breakfast that will fill you for the day this is the place ! Everything about Cartron House was first class from the initial contact until the time we left. It is a place not to be missed on your travels through Ireland .

The Pilgrimage

If you donate £50 to RNLI they will put a loved one's name " albeit in very small lettering" on the identity number of their new Shannon Class lifeboats. This what we did for my Father and Mother, my father's name is on the boat that services Clifden in Southern Ireland and my Mother's name is on the boat that services Wells next to sea in Norfolk England.
Over the last weekend we went on the Pilgrimage to Clifden, in doing so we met the lovely Ann Gardiner who runs Cartron House in Ballinakill in the county of Galway. If you want night life do not book here, if you want peace, cleanliness, garden to walk in, great food, great hospitality, great price, masses of parking space and central to anywhere in Ireland, this the place. If you are on the large size or have a disabilty like me, I recommend room 7. Plenty of room, a raft for a bed and a wet room of immense size, not one of those little fit the corner capsules that you can't bend over in. We had a great 4 days and if you like walking"'which I dont" the surrounding area is ideal. There is the area around Mohor and the Burren, the BURREN is just amazing full of antiquity Limestone paving and Neolithic burials and ancient ruins of Abbies and Castles. We drove from home which is in Devon to there, when we go again,"'and we will "we will fly to Dublin and hire a car.

This place just keeps getting better!

I have stayed here twice before, and although I thought it was excellent then, the improvements are amazing. Impeccably clean, with comfortable, well equipped bedrooms; a homely dining room with the best breakfast imaginable, a large, warm and relaxing visitors’ sitting room (with its own kitchenette for drinks and snacks), and best of all, charming, friendly and welcoming hosts. All this set in beautiful grounds, with its own nature walk through the fields behind the property. They even have a large function suite for weddings and parties etc. Wonderfully relaxing, I can’t wait to go again! No wonder they are award winners - well deserved.
