Great little hotel in Akureyri

Wonderful small hotel near downtown Akureyri. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, very nice breakfast on the third floor overlooking the harbor and clean comfortable rooms with all the usual amenities.

It's pretty expensive but the breakfast was somewhat less quality. Boiled Egg was always hard to peel. Not enough milk prepared. Lack of variety in breakfast . Shower water all over the floor because of no boundary. Upstair room shower water sound here loudly. But overall safe and quiet.

The room I booked with hotels.com was not the one I received. I booked the most expensive room. Apparently the information presented at hotels.com was incorrect. But I think the owner responsibility is to ensure the information presented on third party sites is correct and not misleading. I was given a room on the first floor which was in some differences from the one presented especially the size and floor. In all rooms on first floor you hear the noise from the street and road. The windows are right on street level. Be advised that the hotel is right next to the harbor and Cruise ships arrive on daily basis and this also too noisy especially in the morning and evening until midnight.
It was possible to hear the guests from next room and that contributed to the total noise around.
Breakfast was not so special with comparison to other boutique hotels I stayed in Iceland. We booked 3 nights and I can't say we enjoyed the hotel as much as we expected.

Warm and Cozy

This property is a very old farmhouse and barn that has been converted to a wonderful hotel. It has only been open for a few months and has so much to offer. First, is its location: no more than 100 feet from the waters of Iceland’s longest fjord. Looking out our window to see the harbor the maritime activities underway was perfect. At the same time, it is only a five-minute walk to the downtown area of Akureyri. Talk about the best of both worlds. Our room was modern and clean. There was excellent wifi and the property was very secure. It also has a hot tub and sauna and an “honesty bar” where snacks, drinks, and wine can be purchased after hours on the honor system. Robert, the owner/manager, was very pleasant and helpful. This is a great addition to the Akureyri community and we recommend it highly.

The hotel was well located with a wonderful view. It was designed nicely and the bed, pillows, and bathrooms were all comfortable. It was quiet. I would definitely stay here again.
