Very good

Yes, what a place. Very good welcoming, great room with a view. Bar is nice, breakfast very good. Dinner buffet was both nights and was very good. Staff nice and helpful. We have been here bofore and will be back.

Ideal setting

A gem of a hotel. Perfect location and amenities. Room 201 or 101 have great views of the fjords. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and comfortable. Loved the shower. Hot tub, pool table and darts to entertain you. The grounds are lovely. The location is slightly out of the city which is a plus. A the staff are friendly and accommodating, with the exception of Maria. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel was lovely; the staff was incredibly helpful and kind, the hotel was beautifully furnished, hot tub was great and scenery surrounding the hotel was gorgeous.

This property is amazing. First off let me mention how accessible it is. The entrance from the parking lot to the front door is a ramp. Door opens automatically and there’s no step just a bit of door frame if I recall correctly, and there’s an elevator to the second floor. Our room had a roll in shower. There’s a ramp into the breakfast room as well. The place is newly renovated and impeccably clean. Many nice touches in the room; I really liked the built in luggage stand and the USB ports. Comfy bed, 2 pillows to a side which was a pleasant surprise. The always available coffee, tea and cocoa was a nice feature. The included breakfast was filling with lots of healthful options. The grounds are gorgeous and the windows in our room made the most of it. I took a stroll on the hiking trails and sat in the greenhouse/gazebo, climbed up into the silo/viewing tower and spent some time in the common room with a book too. It’s a great location but I also just loved being there. The buffet dinner was not in our budget but I happened to be in the dining room getting tea during dinner time and happy to report it wasn’t awkward and no one questioned me at all. All staff I met were pleasant and professional.

What a lovely place to stay after day one of the ring road from Reykjavik. It was the perfect end of the day. Dropped my travel gear, grabbed a beer from the bar and watched the beautiful scenery. Breakfast was outstanding and the staff were so very friendly. Definitely a 5 star travel stop.
