Warm hospitality and authentic local experience at Marari Beach

Marari Beach Paradise is a small, family-run homestay offering a very simple but authentic local experience. The room itself is very basic — compact, with limited storage space and a shower that sprays in all directions — but it has good lighting, reliable Wi-Fi, and works well if you value atmosphere and hospitality over comfort. Cleaning is available on request by handing in the roomkey.
What truly makes this place special is the owners. They are incredibly kind, smiling, and genuinely eager to help their guests feel welcome. They happily assist with arranging excursions, recommend local restaurants, and even accompany guests when needed. Only one of the hosts, Rinjo, speaks good English, but communication is easily managed with a bit of patience and translation apps. Their warmth and generosity completely changed our first impression and made us stay much longer than planned — 13 nights instead of the typical 1–3 nights. During that time, we really felt like part of the family and were wonderfully taken care of.
Marari Beach itself is long, wide, and beautiful, with a relaxed atmosphere and mainly Indian visitors. The nature in Kerala is lush and scenic, and there are great opportunities for excursions such as the tea plantations in the Munnar mountains and backwater boat trips. The beach has only a few areas with sunbeds, so you may need to walk a bit if you want one. There are many small beach shacks serving freshly prepared food and juices; alcohol is limited and discreetly served in some places. Stray dogs are common on the beach — friendly but best admired from a distance.
Overall, this is a wonderful choice for travelers looking for genuine hospitality, local culture, and a peaceful beach environment at a VERY budget friendly rate rather than luxury facilities.

Hospitable and authentic homestay on the beach.

A wonderfully authentic homestay right on the fishing beach. The hospitality of the owner family is great and the excellent breakfast and dinner I would highly recommend.

For lovers of beautiful things, this homestay is a jewel in its construction with beautiful materials modeled on Kerala houses, refined and faultless decoration, extraordinary meals, in an atmosphere of simplicity and human warmth. A little paradise that bears his name.

Best place to stay in Marari Beach

Rinjo, Manu and his family are sweet, kind and caring. They will do everything to make you feel welcome and confortable. If you need anything, just ask and they will do their very best to answer to your request. The food is fresh and delicious. Banana coco pancakes is a must for breakfast!
The bedroom is very confortable and clean. I would have stayed longer if I could.
This place truely feels like a little paradise on earth, with the beach next door and the sunset that never cease to amaze every night.
