Stay at puri
The stay at the hotel was comfortable. The staffs were very cooperative. The rooms were quite clean. The only problem I found was that the variety of food items was very limited, there are many items in the menu list but most of them were not available.

Hotel experience is worst in camellia. Most un professional. No proper communication. Between. Hotel staff, i faced so much of problem during my stay

Barely an average hotel
We stayed at Camelia Puri for 5 nights (14-April-2025 to 19-April-2025, Room no. 204 & 205).
1) They have some irritating practice of switching off the geyser from outside whenever guest goes for a day out and/or they do the house keeping/cleaning the room. From the day I checked in, I have to either call the front desk or the house keeping to switch on the geyser. Please note, there is a switch for the geyser inside the room, but unless they make it "on" from their MCB board you cannot operate the geyser. I find this practice immensely irritating. I even told the front desk multiple times to not switch off the geyser from outside but while they are polite on your face but they didn't stop switching off the geyser.
2) Bathroom commode is cracked (Room 204), no shower curtain in bathroom.
3) After every room cleaning either they forgot to provide the hand towel OR bath towel OR drinking water - every time I had to call them to get those
4) Yes, the service turnaround time was prompt except for one occasion and when I reminded the front desk that I am still waiting for the service and afterwards when the guy came to deliver me the shaving kit, he was quite furious as to why I called up the front desk twice because he has been scolded!
5) While at first glance the room looked decent enough you will soon realise that there are small bed bugs and the furnitures are all termite affected and thus after every cleaning within few hours there are wood dust below the furnitures and inside the wall cupboard.
6) While you will get free wifi here but after every around 2 days your device/phone will be logged out from the hotel's wifi and you will again have to call the front desk for new access codes to access the internet!!
7) Here the checkout time is 8am and exactly at 7:55am out door bell rang to remind us about the check out time and when to collect the luggage!! - Relax Camelia, no one is here to stay forever and guests are aware of the checkout time. You don't need to drive them out of the room EXACTLY at 8am!!
8) The ONLY positive of this hotel is its position and after you complaint or report something or ask something the service turnaround time is fast.
Camelia, you have a looooong way to go before you become truly a 3 Star Property!!

Good hotel with some cons.
Camelia hotel is situated at about 1.5 km from Sri Gouranga statue, Puri near Lighthouse. We stay there 3 nights in January 2nd week. The hotel is good & have one swiming pool & one billiard room. It has lift also. Rooms are not large as expected. No rooms has balcony which is expected at this price. Sea can be seen from window over another building, a little obstruction. Beside the hotel a crowded road towards Bengali bazar. For that always starting from 6am a noise is always there.
Lastly, the fooding is not fresh & taste of food is not good with stale smell. I myself suffer from food poisoning after eating that.
These points are not expected from a hotel of well reputation like Camelia.

Horrible Place
We found the hotel very disgusting. We and our friends had booked the hotel for three days in October 2024, but checked out after one day; our friends did not stay even one night. The bedroom linen was stained (blood?), the carpets were dirty, a chair was broken, and there were bugs in the bedroom and the bathroom. The hotel does not have a decent elevator; the old cage-type elevator is not easy to operate and does not go to the top floor. You are out of luck if you are allocated the top floor for a better sea view. Access to the sea is not easy; the beach is across the road and one has to negotiate through scabby shops, dirty pathways, and scattered garbage. They ask you for advance payment which is not refunded if you decide not to stay. I would not stay at this hotel even for free.
