A Poor Experience In a Good Hotel

We visited Rudrapur and had a stop over. Booked 2 Rooms in Sonia Hotel through Make My Trip. The hotel looks pleasant and aesthetic in the lobby area. There is ample parking space as well. The story ends there.
The receptionist, a senior gentleman was extremely non empathetic towards the guests. The welcome was poorly managed with we being told that we had only one room with extra beds. When we showed him the booking details, he just handed over two room keys without being apologetic for mismanagement of information. We asked him about the restaurant timings and the checkout timing. He insisted that we go to the restaurant without even freshing up in our rooms since they would take the last order soon. The last order was at 10.30 and we checked in at 9pm!
We wanted to freshen up so we went to the room first. The bell boy came at least 4 times to insist we must go to the restaurant ASAP. It was hilarious.
The food at the restaurant was good. No complaints. At the time of signing the bill, the waiter kept on insisting on 'Nashta Paani' (Or tip). He followed us all to the door insisting for a tip to each one of us individually. Extremely unprofessional and desperate behaviour
Next, we went back to the reception to check for the breakfast timings. Instead of answering, the same senior gentleman told us that breakfast was not part of our stay. We were aware of the same, so we asked him again what the breakfast timings were. He responded saying that it's for 250 Rupees a head almost assuming that we might be able to afford the same :-). We retired for the evening.
The next morning we discovered that there was no hot water in the bathroom. I called the reception Thrice to request for a solution. The reception did not send help despite promising the same to us. It was 9am. We went to the reception and checked out after settling our dinner bill. The same gentleman was at the reception. He did not take any feedback on the stay or checked if the hot water issue was resolved.
I hope sincerely that this review helps and is taken as a serious feedback from a genuine guest to ensure that the team is better trained for hospitality and not behave extra smart with guests who are paying for the services and salaries of all those who are employed.

Poor quality of food with rude staff

I had dinner at this hotel with my family.
Overall, I had a terrible time.
The service was dreadful, and the food's quality was substandard.
First of all, they were not paying attention, when I ordered extra plates and secondly, when my parents ordered naan, they served cold and hard-quality naan.

Great Visit

Dropped in at Hotel Sonia Rudrapur for Dinner with friends . The quality of food and service was exceptional as always .
COVID protocol was in place and was being followed . All precautions were being followed and proper social distancing was being ensured .
Great to be there ..
