Beautiful old fashioned "boutique hotel"

This Hotel is a renovated with large bright rooms. It is clean and made for horse lovers due to the huge equestrian center which is part of it. The complex is well kept and has a restaurant and bar that offers good food and drinks. It is comfortable and has the feeling of old Europe. There is a castle "Hochosterwitz" nearby (maybe 4 miles) that is magnificent and worth visiting. There are also lakes and if you like to visit Italy or Slovenja it is a short drive.

Great Place!

We really loved this place. It's set in beautiful country, far from the maddening crowd so to speak. It's really a mecca for horse riders, with exercise yard etc. for the horses. Don't be deterred by that! As it happens were were traveling by motorcycle and feel it's a perfect place for any traveller. The breakfast is super good, the restaurant is excellent with a good wine list, and the staff are well above the norm. This place is good enough that we would travel a few hundred km out of a planned route just to stay here. Highly recommended.

as close to heaven as you can get

this precious gem is nestled between some hills overlooking magnificient Burg Hocosterwitz, a Castle being the template for the Disney logo and with ist 14 gates never been taken. The Hotel is absolutely quiet, nothing disturbs your stay, has a large natural Pond for Swimming, a top Restaurant a Seminar room plenty room for horses and place enough to enjoy your horse which you can board there. The staff is extremely friendly,and some for more tha ten years and the Hotel is professionally managed.

Terminabsage

Wir hatten ca 2 Monate vor unserem Familienanlass mit dem (neuen) Geschäftsführer Gernot Huber einen Termin und die Details des Anlasses besprochen. Es wurde auch klar vereinbart, dass bei schlechtem Wetter der Hauptsaal für uns zur Verfügung steht, da der kleinere Raum für einen derartigen Anlass völlig ungeeignet ist. In der Folge wurden dann Menükarte und weitere Details festgelegt und die Verwandtschaft eingeladen.
Nur 10 Tage vor dem Anlass erreichte uns in den Ferien die „Botschaft“, dass der Saal nun an eine Hochzeitsgesellschft vergeben wurde und diese nun leider Priorität habe. Telefonate haben nichts gebracht und endeten mit der lapidaren Bemerkung, dass Fehler halt passieren können. Es ist wohl davon auszugehen, dass eine Hochzeitsgesellschaft nicht erst 10 Tage vor dem Anlass bucht, eher wurden wir wohl absichtlich spät informiert um vollendete Tatsachen zu schaffen.
Wir haben die Reservation trotzdem abgesagt, da das unredliche Verhalten unsere Vorfreude verdorben hat.
Trotz einigem Ärger haben wir beim Schloss Mageregg professionelle Partner gefunden, die den Anlass kurzfristig und zur Freude aller Gäste durchgeführt haben.
Schade um das wunderschöne Dienstlgut, das wirklich eine ordentliche und professionelle Geschäftsführung verdienen würde.

Erholung pur

Im Zuge meiner Motorradtour habe ich wieder die tolle Gastfreundschaft im Dienstl Gut geniessen können. Das Zimmer war wie gewohnt freundlich eingerichtet und sauber. Eine spontante Aufenthalts Verlängerung trotz ausgebuchtem Haus konnte mir ermöglicht werden. Besonders möchte ich das hervorragende saisonale Essen hervorheben. Das nächste Mal gerne wieder!
