not great...
Location is good, but I was here for business and my company put me up in this hotel. The hotel is clean, staff are friendly but shy but i had some issues with my stay
I Don't know where it gets its 4 Stars from. Its a 2 and a half maybe a 3 Star.
-Breakfast was very basic, but okay I guess.
-Wifi is the worst. don't even bother trying to connect to it. I think would be better that they didn't offer it as to offering it with a poor connection. you can't send and receive emails, no youtube, forget netflix.
-Room is small but okay. Bed is hard. No mini fridge, Bathroom was nice but the shower had no curtain or door so the whole room would get soaked when I showered.
- Did i mention the wifi!? REALLY SUCKS

Location good - but that's it
When booking the triple room (half a year ahead) I insisted in a parking lot and was told that they are only distributed on first come-first served basis. Well, of course we then left really early in order to get a parking lot. When we arrived we were told that unfortunately all other guests already arrived a day earlier and therefore we could not park there. After a few discussions the receptionist turned up and said that suddenly two lots are empty and that I could take one but I would not be allowed to leave from there - so indeed I was told not to leave a parking lot during my stay - though I paid € 7,-- per day for the parking >>> quite ridiculous isn't it?
And then the room. I booked a triple room, which usually means: 3 persons = 3 beds. A few weeks ahead I asked at the hotel if the third bed was a bed and not a couch or a cot or something where no one could sleep on. First I didn't get an answer at all. Then I received an e-mail (after getting back to them again) telling me that the third bed is indeed a couch and not a bed. After not reacting to that I received a call where they suggested to move to another partner hotel a bit distant from the center. I didn't agree to change my booking and move to that place instead but somehow found it nice that they at least cared to fulfill the requirements for a triple room.
Upon arrival I was told "We upgraded your room without any additional costs." When I asked what the upgrade is about I was answered that we now do not have a couch but a real bed instead and that the room is a bit larger. Well .... again: SERIOUSLY? I received an upgrade to get the rooom which I actually booked. GREAT!
Also they still do not have a safe in the room. But this time I didn't even ask for the key of the drawer in the room.
Regarding breakfast: This is really poor. No eggs of any kind, no fruits (yes there were apples on Sunday), no vegetables, you have to run to service for each coffee cup and milk extra (no pots provided for the table even though it is filter coffee). Actually I counted three ladies who run the breakfast and I just don't get it why they can't manage a better service.
Regarding the cleaning ladies: At least they are friendly and this year I was not asked what I wanted in my room. Nevertheless we met them every day several times sitting, chatting, being on their phones in the chairs on the aisle - doing nothing. This does not look very professional indeed. To be true this place reminds me rather on a youth hostel ...
After all I admit they somehow try ... but after this 2nd experience I decided not to go there again and even can not recommend this place.

4 stars? maybe in the Balkans, but, maybe the Balkans begin in Linz
I stayed in a room in the extra house, as I was there when the other rooms were cleaned, most probably the last one that has to be renovated. A bit of "Balkan charme" you could say.
Interior of the room seemed proper and nice at first, after a couple of hours i realised quite some annoying things. First, there were spider webs, then the toilet wouldn't stop running, so i managed to do a quick repair myself, same problem started again the next day. Then the TV in the room is about the size of your average computer screen in the eighties. This place, or maybe just this room really needs a fresh up. So many small details that could be sold as charming, if it was a two star hotel, but four stars in a major Austrian city in the heart of Europe? No. As I said in my title - in the Balkans maybe. Not to offend Balkan four star hotel.
Staff was very friendly, breakfast okay.
Also I was staying in most of the first day, there was no sign in the room to indicate that there is no need to clean up the room.
