A "secret address" in southeastern Styria with culinary highlights!

Discovered by chance, our group spent 3 nights in the Pension Steirerland. It was a stroke of luck, in terms of location, but also in particular from the culinary side. The friendly host and operator of the pension, Mr. Mansuet Troicher, is not only a dazzling entertainer, but also an excellent chef with a lot of creativity and always ready for positive surprises. The breakfast buffet is second to none, the meals always on the "point" and very varied and tasteful. As a consumer, you benefit from years of experience in the best "houses" and at international events. You become a "repeat offender"!

Culinary surprise in Mureck

Great hotel, but THE surprise was a 4-course dinner of top quality, as we have rarely enjoyed. Chef Mansuet Troicher knows how to source the best ingredients in his area and prepare them in a fantastic way to create a (very nutritious) delicious meal. Needless to say, the accompanying wines were also excellent. Worthy of stars I would say.

Very spirited and charming service from Mr. Mansuet Troicher!
The Pension Steirerland offers nice rooms and an excellent breakfast.
That convinced us to come back as soon as we are in the area!

By far the best cuisine of a 3-week holiday

On the first visit, the "Styrian country" was part of a package bike tour, one night. The room on the first floor was not big, but it had a balcony and was very practically furnished. Spotlessly clean, good beds.
For dinner we had the half-board menu, a surprise of 4 courses with wine recommendations. Cuisine at star level, absolutely amazing! Local products of outstanding freshness and quality, imaginatively prepared with brilliant plate presentation.
As we had then booked a holiday home in the area, we were able to come back for dinner 2 weeks later, this time choosing à la carte with wine accompaniment. We enjoyed it immensely! Once again extremely attentive service from the boss himself. He showed his true warmth when he accompanied us to the car in the pouring rain with a large umbrella!

gourmet cycling trip

I have done many cycling tours but this one will stay on top of my list mainly because of the Pension Steirerland. It is run by a lovely family, very accommodating, friendly and helpful. The chef spoiled us with outstanding amazing gourmet delicacies every night. The wine also deserves mentioning. Pension exceeded all expectations in every way. We cycled from Mureck 6 days, always in a different direction. Countryside is varied with good cycling trails/roads. Would love to visit again. Thank you Troicher Family and staff.
