Sweet Songs Jungle Lodge

Jungle Paradise!
After a week of diving on the Lighthouse Reef, Half Moon Cay, and Turneffe Reef (which is a favorite activity), we were so excited to experience the jungle. And relax for a few days. We rented a car in Belize City and drove to Sweet Songs Jungle Lodge in only about 2 hours. We did a lot of research before booking our stay and our expectations were very high. Our experience not only exceeded all of our expectations but created a permanent place in our heart and we are already talking about coming back for a longer stay. When we arrived, Esmeralda welcomed us at the reception office and helped us get our bearings while our bags were collected and delivered to our Treehouse. At the pool we were presented with incredible views and delicious welcome drinks. Before long we were being escorted to our home for the next two days. A brand new Treehouse! We loved all the flowers, trees, birds and iguanas. The Seek App came in handy to identify many species. The best was getting a personal guided tour of the Botanic Garden where we touched, sampled and photographed and got gloriously rained on. The beach was so pretty and next time we hope to canoe down the Macal River as we ran out of time this trip.
The food was outstanding and the customer service top notch. Ragner, Noel and Arnold were so informative and welcoming. We were able to have the private dinner out on the end pavilion on our last night and it cannot be explained other than “Magical”. The sounds of the jungle at night were mesmerizing. We recorded some of the sounds on our voice memos to listen for our memories.
While we did not get to see the Howler monkeys this trip, we did get to hear them in the distance on one of the mornings from our balcony.
Last but not least, we got a personal invitation from Edminio to visit and say hello to the horses. We got to love on them for a while and see some of the sweet fillies and colts with their Moms. A highlight for me! Now we are back home but a piece of us remains in that beautiful place. Thank you Sweet Songs. We will be back for sure!

Beautiful lying in the middle of the jungle
Beautiful location, friendly service and good food. Ideal for a short stay in the jungle. In the area there is nothing so you can't go anywhere (if you don't have a car), keep that in mind! Good basis for other excursions

Fabulous stay at Sweet Songs
Absolutely wonderful stay. I came with my sister, my niece (7) and my son (16) and daughter (14). Stunning setting in the jungle where we were joined by hummingbirds and toucans for breakfast. Breakfast by the way was unbelievable I highly George French toast and the fry jacks! Lovely pool with bar and very well kept grounds. The accommodation is clean, spacious with air conditioning and the houses blend in with the surroundings. Situated 2 minutes walk from Belize Botanical Gardens which are a must visit. The staff are friendly and helpful with super senses of humour. A particular shout out to Maysin who looked after us SO well . Wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Loved it!

An Unforgettable Jungle Experience!
Our stay at Sweet Songs Jungle Lodge was absolutely incredible and was one of the highlights of our Belize trip. The property is stunning, and there truly is no better way to spend a relaxing day in the jungle. We made the most of everything the resort has to offer—from swimming in the river and enjoying the beautiful grounds to the thoughtfully planned excursions—and every experience exceeded our expectations.
A huge thank you to Noel Maysin and Ranger for making our son’s birthday so special. They went above and beyond to create memories our family will never forget, and their kindness meant so much to us.
Every excursion was flawlessly coordinated, and we always felt like we were in great hands. Even crossing the border into Guatemala for our Tikal tour was seamless and stress-free thanks to the outstanding planning. Carlos, our driver, was an absolute pleasure—friendly, professional, incredibly helpful, and someone we genuinely enjoyed spending time with.
One of our favorite experiences was the night hike with John. His knowledge of the jungle was amazing, and he made the adventure so much fun for our kids. We were thrilled to spot so many fascinating animals, including a kinkajou!
Erminio was also wonderful with our children. He spent so much time teaching them about the horses, introducing them to each one, and sharing his love and knowledge of the horse as well as the local area in such a patient, engaging way. It was a truly special experience for the kids!
Throughout our stay, Esmeralda was incredibly helpful, welcoming, and always happy to assist with anything we needed. The genuine hospitality from everyone at Sweet Songs made us feel like family.

Lovely lunch
We were staying at a different lodge upstream from Sweet Song and ended our kayaking trip here. We were given a choice of returning to our lodge for lunch or stopping at the Treehouse Bar, and opted to stop. Very glad we did. We were made very welcome by the friendly staff, despite not being resident guests, and the food was excellent. Delicious quesadillas! One of the nicest meals we have had in Belize. And we appreciated the clearly labelled animal spotting guide too - a great idea.
